Sir Alex took United to Arsenal many times with comfortably superior sides to the one being fielded today by LVG, yet I cannot remember the last time he sent his team out to play a high-line, press Arsenal high up the pitch and dominate the game.
Frankly, LVG has proven himself to be totally inept from a tactical perspective. Seeing Bastian and Rooney chasing the Arsenal CB's from the first whistle had me worried.
Arsenal are a good team but United have made them look great by giving them the perfect platform to do what they do best which is pass around you and move into the spaces you leave when you chase the ball and fail to win it.
When you go to Arsenal you get a solid shape together and build from that, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be part of LVG's ''philosophy''

Poor performance all round. First half Carrick and Schweinsteiger given the run around. When one of those doing the running is Ozil who hasn't tried since about 2012 then it's not your day.
I find Arsenal such a bizarre club though. Play like that as it's important to get CL qualification and then drop players in it to qualify the year after. An endless vicious circle of frustration. Just odd!!
