somewhat oddly, given the usual 1 year extension to players over the age of 30 etc, rooney was given a contract out to the end of the 2018/19 season, so united are stuck with him for almost another 4 years.

or another £45m or so, to put it in terms wayne would understand.

Your Rooney defense is pathetic mate

Who is defending him? He's awful. But I'm not a fair weather fan and remember what he's done for us. Sad to see him like this but he's been a great player for us.

Some on here want him to fail.

The question is not whether the boy deserves a statue/pat on the back/bj, but whether £45m over the next 4 years is a sensible investment on the current version of Rooney.

Alas I fear the time to sell him has gone, I honestly don't know if you would find any takers on a free transfer, unless of course he is willing to take a large paycut, his wages being unaffordable to every club in the world bar about 7 or 8, and none of those 7 or 8 would want him.

Shameful some of our fans. Depay been just as bad in every pl game. Carrick not been good. Schweinsteiger was useless today.

Rooney does look finished I agree but he doesn't deserve the pure hatred on here. Drop him fine but show some respect.
