Santos is a massive improvement on Gibbs. For a start, he is fit.
Gibbs is poor defensively and offensively, so even if Santos is suspect defensively he is still an improvement on Gibbs.
Some people will criticise every single signing we make!!

DSD,
we bid that much for Goetze, so be careful what you wish for...

Yea if he could stay injury free yea I'd say so, if the manager considers Santos first choice it wouldn't be that hard. He was in front of Baines for England who is definately better than Santos before he started getting injured every other game.

Gibbs is a slight improvement on Traore.

its true
Young and Santos seem like decent signings but they arent 'any better than what we already have' or 'super extra quality' or something a long the lines of that
Gervinho has seemed to replace Nasri whilst we still need a midfielder to replace Cesc. Albeit a defensive one probably.

Santos isn't much of an improvement on Gibbs
==========
you don't earn 22 caps for brazil unless you're a very good player. i like gibbs, but is he anywhere near santos' level? not a chance. plus gibbs is barely able to sit through a film without getting injured.

It means Gibbs has less appearances in the EPL for Arsenal (19) than Santos caps for Brazil...
