Worry is that it ends up the same as gigs where someone buys up a shed load of tickets and then sells them at vastly inflated prices.

It does seem like there are a few small collection of seats where this happens. However in the main it is an average price of a match day ticket.

But it's the people who pay the silly asking prices that keep this going. I asked the price for my block that the club was charging. That covered myST match price plus fee

I agree. If I get a ticket and can't make it then I'll only ever ask for face value. I think the likes of stub hub should impose a ceiling on the price.
I also have the same issue with gig tickets. When The Verve reformed a few years back the tickets for their gigs sold out in an hour. I looked on eBay and they were on for ten to fifteen times face value. It's theft basically.

I sold my ticket a couple of times last year, I've not really got a huge issue with it. I think for football it is fairly self regulating in terms of price and it's not like gigs where someone can buy a load and then punt on at a later point for a large mark up. Where the game(s) are in demand then the clubs sell the tickets and it's not generally possible to buy a stack of tickets to resell, and if it is a game where you can buy a whole load of tickets direct from the club then demand is going to be pretty low anyway and you'll not have success selling them on.

You're a good man Arouna though if you're selling your man utd ticket on at face value!

Must admit I was considering selling my ticket for the Derby last year, as some of the prices I saw being banded about were ridiculous. Never sold in the end as was my daughters first derby. Must admit personally I pass my tickets on to a couple of mates when I can't go.

The thing is that people selling/buying at stupid prices keeps making people think it's a legal touting system.

But it's just a fan exchange. I got my price from ticket cost/19 plus fee. Didn't have anyone who didn't have a ticket.

Wasn't a criticism re: selling ticked. Better to sell it that it go to waste

My criticism is with those who sell and buy at the high prices.

Face value plus cost StubHub add is fair IMO
