Rafael

Scored his first goal for Lyon yesterday away at Monaco.

Seems to be enjoying his football in France and has definitely calmed his game down a lot.

Here's my question :

Which one of these goals by Rafael would you say was his most memorable moment in a United shirt?

A. His absolute screamer away at QPR

B. His left-footed curler away at Liverpool

Yeah I remember that game we batterd you similarly that game as we did in the CL at the emirates in the same season. It was funny we missed about 15 easier chances then the one rafael scored that day and the chances missed were siupposedly great attackers we had.

It was a victory they merited, with United creating and wasting chances but never carrying the same sense of self-belief as Arsenal in a highly charged atmosphere.
.........
That Arsenal win was nearly identical to our win at the emirates last season.

Always thought that there was an argument to play the twins as wingers rather then fullbacks.

Such a shame we got rid of him. Yes he was a little rash but when he was given the belief that Ferguson had for him he was a great player. The Rafael of 12/13 was our best RB for years.

Never understood why we got rid of Fabio. Sure injuries but its not like we have had luck in the defensive positions with the rest. it appeared to me that Raphael was not happy once his twin left.

Actually wanted to see both staying and nani tbh. Our current style would have suited them.

On a side note I think our current style or philosophy would have seen Veron excel. Always felt the technical players suffered due to our style under SAF. Not that I am complaining looking at the trophy cabinet

China 84

LVG got fed up with him being injured IMO.

I think LVG's main problem with Rafael was his height.

He might have been small but he has a good leap and is tough to knock off the ball. I'd say he is a better header of the ball than Valencia as well as being better at virtually every other attribute needed to be a fullback.

After what they did to Arsenal in that match, never to see that again was a travesty. I never got that and never will, with the garbage we put on the wings after that great match. We pisched away two promising players there.

Good grief.

pay attention at the back of the class.

sensible people, like myself, made that observation from the start.

both were garbage fullbacks, but pretty adequate wingers.
