Belgian magic and Klopp's flops

So the man who fooled the red scousers for over three years who mistook him for the "messiah", in other words Brendan Rodgers, has almost been forgotten and consigned to the history now...Enter Klopp

His first game in charge was against the super fit and the youngest side in the premiership, Spurs.

Klopp had hardly any time to mould his team yet but you can see and make sense from his choice of tactics and players, the direction is clear and each player looked much more comfortable than they did under Rodgers.

Yet, for all their endeavour, Liverpool owe it to the Belgian keeper Mignolet who produced 4 outstanding gaming saving saves to deny Spurs a goal.

In his day, Mignolet can be unstoppable and he'll be encouraged more under Klopp than he was previously.

Yet, Klopp knows he has a bunch of flops in his hands. There are some players who he will no doubt weed out, when he can (most likely during January transfer). All in all, LFC played to stifle Spurs, and they did that well.

For Spurs, there is grittiness in the performance and some bright intricate play interspersed with lack of finishing unfortunately.

Kane was blasting these chances into the roof whreas now, it all goes on the ground.

Some say he should be dropped and rested, and that would be ideal, but we have no other out-and out striker in the squad, therefore can't see that happening.

Talking of Belgian players, today was the best performance for one player from that country: Moussa Dembele

His tackling and dribbling skills at times, unrivaled in the premiership.

If he keeps producing the goods like he did today, then with Dier playing alongside him, I can see better things for Spurs.

All in all, good progresss is being made by the Spurs players, as they look more like a unit now and playing some good football too.

Even if Milner had been sent off (he shouldn't have) it wouldn't have changed the result, Spurs could have played until December and not scored.

When was the last time you scored against us at Five Hart Lane? struggle to remember.

Lallana`s dive was indeed pathetic, but to be totally expected, the ref also bottled sending off Milner, similar happened with Lucas at Everton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also bottled sending off Lamela, who was fouling all game. Works both ways
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Milner blatantly body checked a Spurs player, most of the Lamela fouls were conned by Pool players falling to the ground after minimal contact
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that's exactly how it was Billy You obviously missed where Lamela was constantly just charging into players like a headless bull in a china shop. Bet then you always do......

i think you're seeing something not there. he got pushed in the back. video doesnt lie
----------------------------------------------------------------------

even the scouse-heavy BT commentary agreed it was not a penalty. Player going down already by the time Alli helped him on his way.

He was looking for one IMO, which is fine, it wasnt a blatant dive, but then to appeal so strongly for it is shameful really.

i didn't think it was a penalty either

It was never a pen but could just as easily have been given because of the push, def not enough contact to go down but I've seen softer ones
