Think we can use " true" in the loosest sense of the term
I do love Braveheart even though it's at least 90% bollocks.
I do enjoy The Hurricane. Denzel is an amazing actor.

But the film based on a true story. I like despite how sad it is, based on the Story Quint tells in Jaws when he's saying he had a tattoo removed.
The film is called Mission of the Shark. I did not realise Quint was telling pretty much a true story. I think it was made for tv.
There's a small chance Brummie has probably heard of the film or at least the sinking of the USS Indionapolis.

Isn't that fictional?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe It was based on a true story with a bit of fiction thrown in,
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's based on the memoirs of Henri Charriere and is largely based on fact, and whilst I don't doubt it's not 100% accurate, it's probably enough to qualify as a "true" story
=================
More likely he read "dry guillotine" by rene belbenoit and thought there's some money in this lark and collated former fellow prisoners stories into a book. Some sources seem to reckon that his story is about 10% fact.
It's still a great read though.
