Yeh he was awful but has been excellent the last 5 games so at the moment deserves to start. You don't just drop someone after 1 bad game.

You don’t continue playing someone because they have one good game – unless you’re Poch, and the player’s name is Erik Lamela, that is….

This could be exactly what N'Jie needs. He's hardly had a look in so far and ceratinly looked rusty first half. A decent run in the team will sharpen him up and hopefully show what we bought him for

At this rate Harry winks may get a chance which could be a good thing. We are getting very short in midfield.

'excellent'?!......he put a bit more effort in is all I saw, if he and Chadli were to be sold tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear, both too inconsistent. Can't believe either put any fear into the opposition when they see our team sheet!

We basically have just five out-and-out attacking options fit, for four positions - this is league football I am talking about here, not Thursday

1. Kane
2. Eriksen
3. Lamela
4. Townsend
5. Njie

I can actually see Poch playing all three of Dier, Alli and Dembele to be honest, and only picking three of the above, but assuming we aren't going to do that on Bournemouth's account, that's the current pecking order for me.

Kane and Eriksen pick themselves. Lack of options for the former, the latter needs no explaining.

Lamela deserves to keep his place in my opinion. Another poor game and it may be time to assess again though.

Njie still has a lot to prove. It's early days with him but he looks a very erratic player currently, and is a big gamble away from home, Townsend has proven he can do a job for us - despite the hatred thrown his way.


What would throw this pecking order out is if he does play three midfielders, and Davies. Then Lamela drops to #5 in the pecking order

As I have said time and time again, I would just like to see Townsend be given the same backing and opportunity as what Lamela has. At the moment, one can have numerous poor games on the trot and still regain his place, whereas if the other has a bad 45 minutes he’s back struggling on the fringes. I’m sure if Townsend was given the same level of chances to impress, he might have at least 1 good game in 5…but I don’t think I’ve seen him get 2 games on the trot under Poch – let alone 5.

We’ve drawn 5 league games out of 9. Something isn’t ticking along quite right. But I suppose Chronic is going to tell me this is “bollox” and everything is ticketyboo in his “can’t look at the bigger picture” bubble.
