What a result last night, truly didnt see that coming, not just beating Bayern, but by a 2 goal margin WHILST keeping a clean sheet. Phenomenal. Can only imagine what the odds were pre-match.
Round of applause to Wenger last night. We looked like a really focussed team in what we set out to do, with good overall shape to combat the Bayern beast. None of our attackers showed anything outstanding individually I felt, but as a unit every one of them contributed to our good play, which is a positive moving forward. From the defensive shape down to the timing of the subs, Wenger got it spot on, and its this tactical flexibility for which he has been criticised in the past for not showing that has seen us pick up some great results of late.
What a difference Cech makes to that back line, no more said on that front. Him and the whole back four including the much maligned big Per showed that they can really slug it against the best. We've had different combos of Kos, Per, and Gabriel at CB this season and look reasonably good whichever 2 of the 3 start. Fingers crossed no injury crisis here and we should be okay.
I made an article some weeks back about Ozil and his lack of individual goal threat, but much credit to him, the guy is pulling up his socks and taking it upon himself to go for goal more frequently now. Looking like a u-turn from our previously goal shy playmaker. If he can continue in this vein, he really will prove all his doubters wrong. Didnt have an amazing game last night but still did well, rounding it off with our second, and long may it continue.
That entire Bayern squad is scary, considering yesterday it could boast of the trio of Ribery, Robben, Gotze, all not featuring. We will definitely have our work cut out at the Allianz Arena, and probably be given an even tougher ride than yesterday, but who knows, we've won there in the not too distant past, so theres reason to be optimistic......
I have a gut feeling that with our previous 2 losses and our backs to the wall in the group, we were able to give it a real fearless and focussed crack at it, but had we not lost those 2 previous group games, we wouldnt have approached yesterday with the same focus and desire. I could be wrong and we'll never know but its for this reason that I am no longer frustrated at the first two losses, just have to give it our best in the remaining games and see where we stand, qualification is still a large possibility!
Finally, why are some of our fans on here so intent on spouting so much premature garbage when things are going well for us. They really can't help themselves can they. Can't we just enjoy the win and keep our feet on the ground without needlesly giving wums ammo to beat us with later on.
Anyways, roll on Everton next, will be a tough game and hope the team has plenty in the tank to handle them!!!!!
Some Talking Points

Ox got a let off missing the goal from 3cm out! How did he manage that!?!
For what it's worth, I thought Ozil was superb last night, he held on to the ball really well under pressure and put in a heck of a shift playing on the counter.

No, they arent. They are vastly overrated by some. Of course Bayern Munich possess very good players by they have their weaknesses as any other team.

Really? Of course they definitely have their weaknesses, but I think you'd have a hard time finding another team with as much quality squad depth as Bayern.
Barca and Madrid certainly dont imo.

Vastly overrated? Come on! They were favourites by a mile last night and with good cause, the best team in Europe at the moment. I'm interested to hear what you think these weaknesses are?

Dont argue here. Of course Bayern have an exceptional squad. No doubt. But ahead of the game most of the poster didnt give us any chance to win or even to draw.

Well you watched the game? Their back 4 are very vulnerable. With the right concept and being brave to attack them you are able to beat them. Think also they have some weaknesses in midfield. Ball possession is not decisive to win games.

Apparently Ramsey is out for 6 weeks. Will be a great chance for Ox to show what he can do with a run of games. Or Maybe Giroud can work himself back into the starting 11 and push Walcott back out wide

Arsenal should play on the break more in big games, you've the players to do it and you now have a solid enough defence with Cech in goal

We have played that way, quite a few times. I know commentators always sound like it's the first time they've ever seen us defend, but we've done it before. In fact it's what we did against United a couple of weeks ago after we'd won the game in 20 minutes.
