I mentioned this earlier and thought it was only a rumour but it is gathering pace now and from some pretty reliable sources.

#NFFC fans. Nigel Clough. Discuss please. Would that be a good move in your opinion?

The NC rumour is getting very strong, so will be interesting to see if it happens imminently @JamieWilliams1 .
This is no surprise, you could tell this with the Trotter deal going dead as the Boyd situation did. However I would feel sorry for Dougie even though the results were going against him as I genuinely do not think he was that bad a manager and I would wish him well.
Onto Non league Nigel () anyway. To be fair he always wanted the job ever since Calderwood was sacked he even admitted that a couple of years ago and said he had always been a Forest fan. We all knew as well that it was going to happen some day as well and I even said after Dougie came in that if he was sacked then Nigel would be our next manager and it looks like being so.
Will it work? Potentially if he got a lot of support in. However I think this is a chance for Forest and probably the last one; if we followed Stan's advice from last week and got a lot of the Forest old boys back who have achieved things in coaching and maybe even bring Pearce back in an ambassador / director of football role then maybe they could even influence Fawaz to have a less hands on approach to the club to finally allow us to move forward.
With Nigel though for me the best way to sum it up is that he wouldn't be as bad as Petrescu coming in, but I would have preferred another Nigel in Pearson coming in.
However either way, the club will not move forward unless Fawaz drastically changes his course in terms of trying to run everything by himself. If others do not come in quickly and he does not take a back-seat to the running of the club even if he still wants to be in the press and do interviews, then I can see the club still only going one way regardless of who comes in.
Thought's?
Nigel looks like he is coming!

Next manager will have six months to get us to the top six or he is out.

Awful news if true.
Dougie deserves until the New Year at least. If we're not top six then (in Fawaz's mind...I had no expectations until we started playing like we have...at times....Boro, QPR, Brum 2nd half etc...) maybe Fawaz should pull the trigger.
Same as the old network (Collymore, Pearce, Percy etc), it all boils down to expectations. Fawaz needs to also learn that we ain't no Chelsea, but even Chelsea get dicked

SOD is still Fawaz's biggest mistake, despite what's happened since. Sacking him when we were playing well, winning games and in 7th place, and on the back of a 4-2 win on Boxing day, was incredibly stupid, and he's paid the price for that ever since.
Sacking Freedman isn't the answer, he has got some good performances out of the team (QPR, Brum, Boro etc) and we played pretty well again on Tuesday and deserved to win so I'd give him time. At least until he has some of the injured players back to work with.

Paying two managers ain't going to help us get out of FFP, though tbh I doubt we will get out of FFP anytime soon.

Wrong Nigel SBD. Pearson is waiting in the wings

Doug isn't doing so badly and I don't see anybody else getting any more out of this group of players. Infact a manager change at this point in time could be catastrophic.
All Doug's loan signings have shown signs of promise except the Dutchman in midfield. Del Boy scored on his debut. Give the guy some time.

Pearson will be at Villa before Freedman is sacked, I doubt he'd want the Forest job anyway, while we're under FFP.

I have a feeling Clough is being lined but for me he'd be no better than we have now. Questionable tactical ability/style etc. Main argument seems to be excuses about difficult circumstances, hasn't Dougie had that previously but flirting a little bit more with top half?
If it happens expect eventually for us to be linked with dross players that have followed him before, a fairly direct/cynical style of play, better performances in a few games that saves bacon for a while.
Positives I can see is we're used to rubbish style, expectations are right down, it may bring things to a head with our owner, he wouldn't last very long and clubs usually improve after he goes

Pearson at Forest!
Car crash.

It will be Nigel and around the merry go round we go again
Nothing will change if Fawaz continues to act as he is.
