Guys, losing courtois is a massive blow and he would have saved us many times....look at keepers position for Carroll's winner.

He could have changed results and lady luck has le ft us also.

The responsibility for motivating the players is the managers. Bad runs are not unheard of. After winning the league bad runs are much harder to absorb.
Only one thing matters. Does the team have faith in Jose, are they behind him. If so patience is the only course of action. Give Jose the chance he deserves to sort it out.He has earned that. If he has lost the dressing room, or there is an obvious split. Then and only then he must be gone.

bluebell I like you as a poster, but could not disagree anymore, I think begovic has been fantastic this season, if not the oustanding keeper so far this year(maybe de gea and cech will have something to say bout that)

My feeling exactly, their winner was a combination of Dave and Begovic mistakes. Yes, Begovic is an excellent back up goalie, but he is no Courtois or Cech.

Rapid decline of form of our players from last season, particularly to JT and Brana coupled this by Teebo's injury followed by bad luck throughout the season has contributed to us having a bad season thus far.

As Cahill very eloquently put it in his interview yesterday "'We've not had the rub of the green, but we're not feeling sorry for ourselves. We have to work hard to turn this round"

when Moyes took a team of champs to 7th, he was rightly blamed
Likewise Jose has to take responsibility, Jose imo should never ever be sacked by any club based on what he has achieved and continues to achieve, but we all know why he does get sacked and we can all see it happening again.

You cant deny that the way he treated Eva & Jon Fearn has definitely played a part, they both did nothing wrong and they were both blamed.
The players would have lost a bit of respect for Jose after that debacle.

The club could have done more in the transfer window. We should have gone after Stones earlier in the window. Martinez all but admitted that the main reason they wouldn't sell Stones was because they couldn't bring in an adequate replacement.

So if we'd gone after Stones at the beginning of the window as opposed to later in the window as we did then Stones may well be a Chelsea player now.

Also we should have gone for Griezmann. I feel that the club baulked at his expensive buy out clause which was increased over the summer but you get what you pay for and in Griezmann we would have got an excellent player who would have fit us like a glove I feel (as do many others).

Ok enough is enough. Begovic and maybe Azpilicueta may be our only shining lights this season so far. Begovic has saved us big time on several occasions and to think Courtois would have done better with position needs to think back to last season where his positioning cost us at least 3 times Man city being the worst and then being beat from the next county by Charlie Adams.
On a happier note it was nice to see a very calm and professional appearance from Jon Obi Mikkel yesterday he took both Matic and Fabregases rolls on and outshone them both. he did steady the ship and we actually looked like it was 11 v 11 at that point. Cant for the life of me think why Azpi was the only player marking Carroll for the goal as we have three centerbacks on the pitch at that time.

Have to say I still reckon courtois could have stopped some of the goals guys,as he is world-class...loyalty to begovic is admirable.
