Kevin Macdonald ...

Nobody has mentioned him for the job but we could do a lot worse. The guy is Villa through and through and it seems has a great rapport with players. People will say he has no experience in management but the guy knows the club inside out. I think he could be a good stable choice if we gave him a chance. Ok the last time he took over for a few games we lost them, but any manager who takes on the job is not just going to wave a magic wand and turn it around. This next appointment needs to look to the long term .. I'm sorry but if Garde gets the job and we get relegated he wont stay and play in the Championship.

Abysmal .. He was only in charge 14 games and left for personal reasons ... he lost 5 games from 14 .. hardly Abysmal !!!

If Garde gets the job and is a success then who knows who might come calling? Arsenal? Don't think it matters. What matters is someone who can come in and starting getting the performances out of our existing squad that we need. Survival this season is critical.

I like Kevin Mac and think as U21 manager he did a very good job. Can't see him as quite right in the horrifyingly tough world of PL football.

McPartland do you not think the rapport with the players is a huge thing in football ?? In my opinion certain players were not keen on the Sherwood tough mentality and as sad as that seems its football these days. Remi Garde might be good with the french lot but i can see players like Grealish not liking him one bit. Call me negative but i think we are a shoe in to go down this season with all the negativity higher up in the club and dont think anyone will save us. Therefore we need to build for life maybe in the championship if it happens. Garde is just a massive risk, and dont forget how long will it take him to get his way of playing into the team ?? Months ?? We must look nearer to home ..

I think Brendan Rodgers is the best guy for Aston Villa. He did well at Swansea and was hamstrung by the sale of Luis Suarez at Liverpool - he was impossible to replace, almost similar to the loss of Benteke. And but for that loss at Crystal Palace, Liverpool would surely have been champions that season. David Moyes would be a boring choice, I think he lacks imagination.
