Ozil vs Mata vs Coutinho

Remember when fools used to compare these 2 average footballers with Ozil . Mata and Coutinho are not even half as good as Ozil.

Coutinho scored vs Chelsea, but he will now go into hiding for the rest of the season as he usually does.

Mata is not good enough to play in the middle for Utd and gets shafted off wide right. Even Lingard plays there ahead of him .

We should all be gracious and thankful that we have a player of Ozil's class in our team.

a. They are all well above average footballers

b. If you halved everything Ozil does, he would not still be better than the other two.

Clear case of S.T.A.

Özil is more talented of the set. But all three are just as effective

Ozil's style goes against him as he can look disinterested and even lazy, but that's just how he is.

I defo think the lack of a winter break in his first season especially had a huge impact on him, you could see he was wrecked in the second half of the season.

But he's used to it now, looks fitter and stronger and that's showing in his performances.

People we quick to call him a flop because he was expensive but in reality most of this was coming from fans who were worried about his potential in an Arsenal shirt, which he is showing now.

_________

Probably, but for specific factors other than his having to 'get used to the league'.

His pre-season training was with Real Madrid, so it would have been planned differently to Arsenal's. Traditionally, the top Spanish clubs plan for two periods of peak form which are designed to coincide with the CL months, i.e. his fitness profile would have been designed to cope with a different calendar.

No idea how Arsenal set about dealing with this, but in hindsight it would probably make sense for new arrivals whose preseasons were designed to cope with a different fitness pattern were rested over Xmas for the equivalent period they would have done in their own league (in Ozil's case, around 10 days or so).

good point I never thought of that, especially with him being signed on deadline day.

Just to rephrase my last para though, "it might make sense" instead of "it would probably", and even then, on seconds thoughts you'd think that professionals in the field would have already factored in these issues.

If they didn't rest him, then I guess they must have had their reasons.

With Mata and Coutinho, they tend to do nothing for the majority of the game, but they will make up for it with a goal or assist. Eriksen too.

Ozil is always asking for the ball, the things he tried didn't always come off, but the the attempt was there. He has of course had game where he has also been invisible, but they were a lot rarer than the three mentioned above.

I also think having a proper ball winner in the team now, and having his first pre season with the club has helped.

Exactly - the OP is a complete clown and now his WUM attempt has turned to proper football debate he's out of his depth and has facked off for a little cry.
