Albrighton

Looks like he's getting a call up for the forthcoming friendlies, it will be great to have a proper winger playing for England again, it's been a while!

Who laughed at me when I suggested he deserves a call up? 😂

Hodgson will use the friendlies to take a look at Leicester winger Marc Albrighton, 25, and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, 22.(Daily Star)

Take it up with the newspaper that reported it dear fecking God, it's not like I wrote the fecking article is it? Fecks sake you shiiit me off!

Blimely looks like someone is fuming they originally posted an unsourced story. Seriously it's not worth ranting and raving about.

Yeah thats fair enough but people are making out like I wrote it. All I did was write what I read, if that's wrong then well it wasn't me that wrote the article. I guess I think it's too stupid for a paper to report things like that if it's just made up. What's the point? Clearly some papers do literally just make shiiit up!

At least Vardy continues to get picked. All we need is Roy to play him as a number 9 - Where he belongs

The latest Roy comments don't fill me with much confidence that we will see Vardy in the middle.

I thought Hodgson was different to all the other England managers. Clearly still swayed by the big club tag.

How Delph has got in is beyond me, 4 minutes played since September.

Roy will soon realise that he has to change it because we're going to get murdered playing the style he thinks we're capable of. We're not good enough to control possession and we won't create anything. We'll be under pressure, won't be able to get the ball and we'll have no outlet with Kane or Rooney up top and the ball will keep coming back. If the bloke has half a clue, he'll change it!

I think that the moral to this thread is that one should read a higher quality Newspaper than the Daily Star.

I don't read newspapers, it was on BBC gossip but I won't be trusting anything the Star says again 😉

Hodgson actually sounds quite shirty in his comments about Vardy. With everyone asking that he played down the middle, Hodgson's reply seems to be "I'll keep playing him wherever I flaming well want". In a sense this is admirable; unfortunately in this case it's also misguided.

What's most concerning is that Roy has long favoured a 4-3-3 formation with Rooney leading the line. Whether you have Vardy in the team or not, that is flawed: Rooney is consistently showing himself incapable of playing that role effectively any more and so I can't see where he could effectively fit in a 4-3-3. I really believe it's time for him to change the system to a 4-2-3-1 and look at the likes of Kane, Vardy, Walcott and Sturridge (when fit) to lead the line with Rooney in behind. Continue with Rooney as the lead striker and our attack will surely be seriously and easily blunted against decent opposition.
