Thank You. So Proud.

As a follower & supporter of LCFC since the days of Matt Gillies & Gordon Banks, through all the thicks & many thins, I don't think I have ever felt as proud as I did yesterday.
I would like to thank everyone at our great club from our very generous owners to the smallest minions & not forgetting the players for bringing this about.
The owners do not share our club or country traditions but they have bought into it in a big way & made our club respected again.
Speaking of respect, apart from the Watford players not leaving the pitch during the helicopter landing, the occasion was very moving & it occurred to me while the players were standing round the centre circle how many nationalities we have, including Austrian & German, but all participated with respect & wearing the red poppy. A reflection of our amazing team spirit.
Thank you everyone.

A great day yesterday on so many levels, To be honest I did raise an eyebrow when the Watford players refused to leave the pitch during the landing then I realised the request was made on the grounds of H&S and not respect (thoughts of respecting the request are going through my mind so no need to reply to that)

For the first time since I can remember the one minutes silence was impeccably respected by all and only one Leicester fan had a bit of an itchy trigger, maybe starting a massive shout a split second early.

The Watford fans in the main have been gracious in defeat and complimentary of our achievements - Good bunch in the main and we do have our very own embarrassments

Very good very proud a little tear remembering how man old Guardsmans funerals i went to and heard the last post. Its a pity they never play the second half which is a upbeat know as "come to the cook house door" meant to symbol the falling in of comrades in heaven.

We are living through the best time since Bloomfield to be a city fan i hope we appreciate what is being done in our name.

Other clubs and fans like and respect us as well.

p.s still haven forgiven Matt Gilles for selling my uncle Derek and Banksy.

Who was your Uncle Derek? Derek Dougan? A bit of a dressing room stirrer by all accounts but a great player. Saw him score one of the best-ever goals at Filbert Street. Flicked the ball over his head (a la Gazza) with his heel, ran on to it and fired home. As for Banksie, when you have the best keeper in the country on your books and his 17-year-old successor, whom do you sell? I read somewhere that Banks was miffed by the way City bundled him out without so much as a 'thank you'. He was a magnificent keeper (probably the best ever) and always struck me as a thoroughly decent bloke. He suggested he was treated shabbily by Leicester. sad way for the association to end.

Ey the Doug yes he had issues and yes i used to go round to Bank's semi in Blaby and had training sessions with him. Agreed not much choice and Shilt's was pushing hard for it. But neither player was treated to well.

He arranged for me to be mascot for the wolves match on my birthday scared me for life running out in a wolves kit against my team!!!!!!

No big deal but someone should of told him.

The Doog stayed out overnight when the team were down on the south coast. I think he ruffled trainer Dave Jones's feathers a bit and the next thing he was off to Wolves. There must have been more to it than that.

As for Shilts, Matt Gillies made it quite clear that this was 'young man in a hurry' so, unfortunately, it was clearly a case of 'him (Banksy) or me'. Did the club not deny him a testimonial? Any road, that's how I remember it.

I thought it was very well done again and good to see the Watford fans embracing it as well. You never entirely know what you're going to get from a set of visiting supporters to this kind of day, but they were excellent.

It's also been great to see the pictures of the display as well. I was positioned within the poppy itself so couldn't see a thing, but it looked great afterward.

It was very moving and picked up by the press even out here in the sand pit!
