Pearce says Sakho is likely face a period on the sidelines which will become clearer tomorrow.
Sakho will see a specialist on Merseyside on Tuesday who will diagnose how long the 25-year old will be out.
Liverpool are hoping the big defender will not need an operation.
Sakho who landed awkwardly against Crystal Palace yesterday has already been ruled out of France friendlies against Germany and England.
Report from James Pearce of Liverpool Echo says Mamadou Sakho has not picked an ACL injury as first feared.
It is not yet understood how long he will be out but Liverpool fans will be pleased Mamadou Sakho hasn't picked the same injury as Joe Gomez and Danny Ings.

I'd rather have Torben Piechnik than Lovren.

Sakho unfortunately looks like another player we just can't rely on.
Can't seem to go even half a season without getting injured.
We need players who can play a seasons worth of football on a regular basis not these twigs who can't put 10 games together let alone 50.

Depressing news. From the players reaction it looked bad at the time, but the beast refused to go off.
Injuries this season have been horrendous. Sakho has been excellent under Klopp. He will be big a big miss.

The impact of his foot hitting the floor.
Muscle injuries or not, he is clearly prone to injury.
Some players are rarely ever injured. We need more of those ones.
