Villa interested in Darron Gibson

Man Utd and ROI midfielder Darron Gibson could be on his way to Aston Villa.

The new Villa manager Alex Mc Leish is an admirer of the Derry born player and is keen to add Gibson to his playing staff.

This would be a great move for Gibson who is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford .

A good run out in a Premiership side is just what he needs. He has shown in flashes just what he is capable of in some ROI matches. Most notably his long range goal against Wales in the Carling Nations Cup.

The jury is still out as to whether he will ever be good enough to hold down a regular starting place in the Republic of Ireland side but i believe his game will improve if he is given a chance to play week in week out. People forget too that he is still only 23 so he will only get better.
