There were rumours late on 10th November that Bolton Wanderers were ripe for a takeover. It wasn't till later the next day that fans site the Lion Of Vienna Suite firmed up their original story and gave an indication that former Wanderers striker Dean Holdsworth was involved.

It then came to pass that said consortium were considering removing Neil Lennon and putting in former Bolton right back and tanning enthusiast Phil Brown as manager in a Football Manager stylee. - No further info has been given on this development.
Then there was a story Big Sam is going to be involved, to which I recon he could've been if he'd not gone to Sunderland.
Talks were ongoing and then came this weeks further revelations:
Phil Gartside's illness was brought to light the severity putting an end to his tenure as Chairman. The club broke it's silence on the matter when it revealed that Trevor Birch, an expert in takeovers and clubs in financial peril, was being parachuted in to take on the talks.
Then, to the disgust of the racist elements of the Bolton News comments page, Amir Khan was on board. Though it's said that his involvement is more about fighting at the ground - (as in Boxing not just a big dust up).
The Bolton News suggested he is part of a bigger line of revenue streams being lined up by the Deano led consortium.
As for the current state of affairs - Lennon has been told there is no money available for any loans - which led to the cancellation of a loan deal already all but confirmed, (and the edit of this original article).
If all goes well, it is thought the deal should be through by the Wanderers next home game on the 30th November.
**20/11/15 update***
Now it seems Stelios Giannakopoulos wants a bit of Bolton Wanderers takeover action, (unconfirmed reports), and has got his own consortium sorted. However, he may be too late with Sports Shield believing they've got the deal in the bag.
***22/11/15 Update***
A furious Stelios wants answers as to why his takeover bid has not been given any answers - it is said he put his hat into the ring in JANUARY and the powers that be prefer the club to be in English hands. Never mind the fact that it's a former player who still has a house locally and looks like he does actually care about getting the best money men available.
Also unconfirmed reports list a middle eastern bidder has now emerged.

Young keeper from Torquay who was on trial is expected to sign "on loan" with view to permanent deal.

I suppose this is more a bagsie deal (if it does go through).

Back to football club matters. I think we may need Rentokil it all smells a bit like a rat. No takers for years and then a company a few months old suddenly has investors waiting in the wings. BUT they do say they can arrange bridging loans but not where the cash is from. If it were me I'd want to see proposals from Trev before any moves were made maybe he's been in there longer than we were told.

I don't know if you are from Bolton CLEGG but Bolton is my home town and I think you should respect the people of Bolton.
If you don't like it, get out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i do live in bolton, and its cr*p. The town centre is to be fair picking up with current redevelopments. But its been garbage for years. Its a depressed Market town, no different to many others.
Interesting how the 2 people who jumped on a respect the bolton people bandwagon, both dont live in bolton...haha I dont blame you! Soon as i have the means i will be out looking for a better quality of life
CLEGG, My post was in regard to respecting the people of Bolton. I have family who live in Bolton and they are privileged to live in good areas of Bolton. other residents aren't so lucky and live in surroundings that are less affluent. I'm sure that some would and do agree with you. But I still say if you don't like it, Get out. There's nothing difficult in moving somewhere where you feel is better.
Personally I like going back to Bolton and will be there over the festive season to see relatives and friends. I'm sure that if they weren't happy about their situation, they would get out.
You obviously don't like the town, so get out or shut up.

Hang on to your Campo wigs.
There's more surprising revelations to come. As you know the secret bunker is in Egypt so please allow time for news to reach little old Bolton and the presses of the highly acclaimed town crier who in this modern age prints stuff as he's unable to ring a big bell (a common symptom of the over use of the right hand while self pleasuring oneself).

Todays edit.
I'm not too impressed at the parochial attitude the board has had considering the problems.

I have just posted an article regarding the Stelios bid. Apparently is was tabled last January. It's no surprise that we didn't hear about it but it now seems that it has been dismissed by Eddie and Gartside.
