What do you guys think about Jamie Vardy closing in on our RVN's record?
I don't mind Vardy breaking the record tbh. Records are meant to be broken, so why not Vardy?
His story is like a modern day fairy tale, it'll be even better if he can cap it off by breaking the RVN's record.
Thoughts?

Was Van Nistelrooys over consecutive seasons or all in one?
No reason for the question other than curiosity. It's a great acheivement by both.

Not sure about that Melts. We don't get the ball into the box often enough, and RVN only scored one goal for us from outside the box, as far as I can remember.

RVN is exactly the type of striker we need at the mo. He does everything we want from a CF, and he is super clinical

I agree VC, I think it's a bit of a chicken and egg thing where you haven't got the runners in there to feed the ball to as Rooney is dropping very deep at times.
You're right though, due to the way you play wingers now.

RVN's was over two seasons, which makes Vardy's run pretty remarkable.
Even though it was it was strange to see Leicesters No1 penalty taker give away the ball. Would have been funny if Vardy had missed seeing as Watford were well in the game and should probably have been winning themselves.

Why would anyone not want him to break it

Some of the comments on this thread jesus wept.
Although Vardy hasn't got the abundance of talent, and I certainly wouldn't want him at United you should all respect the fact that he started part-time in non league football and has literally pulled himself up by his boot straps to the Premier League and England caps. It really is a remarkable story and he has done it through hard work and sheer persistence.
He chases absolutely every ball and lost cause for his team and seems relatively humble away from the game. If anyone wants footballers to be role models they shouldn't look much further than Vardy really. Consummate professional.
