Nottingham Needs You

In almost 50yrs of watching Forest I have never felt so fearful of what the future may hold for our club, knowing I’m not alone in these thoughts & would suggest every Forest fan the world over is of the same mind set.
THE PROBLEM: (or “issue" for younger readers), is blaringly obvious to all :- “we aren’t winning games"
THE REASON(S): opinions are varied & divided inc. the embargo, Fawaz, injury list, DF, underperforming players, lack of commitment, bad luck, and the list goes on.
THE SOLUTION: I would suggest can’t be found until which of the above has been identified as the reason.
So what can the club do to address this, I don’t think we have time to see if returning players will make an immediate effect sufficient to power us out of relegation fear. The embargo we can do sweet sod all about so we’re going to have to live with it & forget it. Fawaz is going nowhere soon, nor would I personally wish to see him do so, yes he may have made some errors of judgement haven’t we all, but let’s remember how grateful to him we were when he came and you don’t become as wealthy as he is without one hell of brain, he will learn from the embargo hopefully.
The one thing that can be immediately changed is DF, whilst I know & to a very small degree, agree with some of the arguments that have/will be put forward not to make this change, it can’t be reasonably argued that this is the only action the club can take at this time to try to identify what is wrong.
IMHO the one man for the job is Nigel Pearson …… before all the doom & gloom merchants come out with : “he wouldn’t work with Fawaz" … “we’re not a big enough club" … “ he wouldn’t want us on his cv" … etc … well how do you know what’s going off in his head? I sure don’t!

If forums like this can get the message out: “NP, NOTTINGHAM YOUR HOME TOWN NEEDS YOU" who knows .. come on Rev you believe in miracles & right now we need something not far short of one.
If we have to make cuts in other area’s to pay him, so be it because it sure ain’t working right now and the future is not bright.

You'll win it comfortably Manc. When Backo says you've got this, just ignore him, when Teg says it, take heed

There is a difference between making a prediction Manc and talking about it likes it's fact. Even with predictions though you'd think that they would be reserved. I guess learning lessons isn't a strong point with many, they must difficulties in that department

Also, I'm the one pulling people up for it. Where I have done that considering there is a suggestion I have? Even when briefly top last season I was counting the points to first target, around 54 points

Should be happy for it Ray and Teg means you can take the pee out of us even more .

Nothings ever a sure thing in the Championship which makes it all the more exciting. On one hand it's good to play at the top level, on the other you know your really playing for survival or mid table (although hopefully Leicester can turn that on it's head this year.)

Nothing from me aimed at you Ray, enjoying the discussions rather than name calling tbh.

It's funny how a lot of fans (myself included) think that the EPL has lost it's soul somewhat, enjoy the competitiveness and often randomness of the Championship, but still crave promotion

I look at it as just a prestige thing as once you know your safe there's nothing really to play for as there's no chance of sneaking in the top 4 and the Europa League isn't seen as a major competition anymore (more a drain on the players), and god forbid you try and win the FA cup, league cup and end up going down.As the saying goes
'It's a funny old game' <laughs>

It's sad when attempting to win trophies is seen as a risk! Glad Clughie didn't have that attitude when he was here at the CG.

Completely agree Will, problem now is it's run for business not sport. Owners want to make money, and there's more prestige in the PL than winning the domestic trophies.

That's why I can't be bothered to watch any Prem games on the as most are meaningless.
