Former PEC Zwolle manager Langeler was headhunted by PSV almost two-and-a-half years ago to help the club realise its new philosophy of getting youth players ready for senior level at a young age.
Langeler said the club will let players go if they feel they are ready, no matter what their age - and he says Depay was right to leave the nest.
"He's one of the biggest talents I've seen. I don't think he left PSV too early," the youth coach added.
"The fact he's currently playing in one of the biggest teams at the age of 21 says it all.
"In Holland he was ready. In England he's currently a good player with difficulties, but if he can grow there then he will be one of the world's great players."
.........
Prior to joining united, this was to me the most exciting transfer we have had for some time in terms of a young player with great potential. Now I'm not too sure how far he can go, whether he will become top drawer, or stagnate.
So from what we have seen so far of our talented young forward, how far do you think he can go in the game? Will he become a good enough player to build a team around?

Considering their wages are firing on all cylinders in the first year yes I expect them to fire.
It's all about the wages they earn.

I know how the REAL WORLD works.
If you are getting paid a big salary, BUSINESSES want their pound of flesh.
SO, if a player comes in on high wages, he is expected to play like a high-earner. If the club aren't expecting him to fire straight away, which happens, I know, they won't pay him moster wages.
See Martial and Depay for examples. And Nick Powell as an example of someone not expected to fire straight away.

I wonder why Martial settled in quicker than Depay, both young, both new league to adapt to. Is Martial the bigger talent?

Everyone is different is my guess.

The way I see it Martials football brain is more developed than Depays right now. Just like Rooneys football brain was more developed than Ronaldos when they were similar ages. I'd consider Depay and Martial to have similar levels of technical ability but it depends on how well Depays football brain develops.

so many variables... Depay's form dropped significantly after the Shaw injury, they were forming a good partnership on the left.... But way to early to say if one is better than the other or even if Martial has settled... If he goes on a 5-10 game run of poor form, like Depay, the same questions will be raised.

When I see what Memphis CAN do, I can't help thinking he'll be a top player in not too much time. He's got more than enough raw talent, and I believe that his recent humbling from Holland and us has shown him the light. Between him and Anthony, we have a lot to look forward to.
