ROI goalkeeping legend Shay Given will earn his 115th and then his 116th caps against Slovakia and Russia respectively over the next few days.
The Irish players (North and South) with the most international caps is former NIreland goalkeeper Pat Jennings on 119.
If Shay can keep playing and more importantly keep himself fit and in good form he should easily surpass Jennings record.
Robbie Keane who is probably the greatest striker ever to come out of the Island of Ireland is currently on 109 caps. If he can remain first choice on the ROI team expect to see him smash Jennings record as well over the next 2 or 3 years.

Pat Jennings is an Irish legend and in my humble opinion will always be the greatest Goalkeeper the Island ever produced.
He played Gaelic Football for Down and was a great ambassador for all communities on the Island.
Shay Given is a worthy second fiddle to Pat and in his own right the best keeper that Ireland has produced since and by a country mile, infact were he English he have played over a 100 times for them.
He is the major reason why Aston Villa have gotten off to such a great start. He may reach 150 caps for Ireland.
Also international teams play way more games now than they did in Jennings era.

Agree Jennings was a legend. Goalkeeper in his day and a gentleman.
Still its great to see fellow Irish goalkeeping legend Shay Given closing in on his record number of caps
