...after a disappointing week.
Two poor performances do not a season make, but I'm with a few on here that despite encouragingly starting to play with a 5-man midfield earlier in the season, Pellegrini has clearly shown that he all too easily reverts to type and simply can't shut up shop and invite the opposition to attack when he needs to. We have a speedy counter-attacking unit as good as any (apart from the European top 3 of Barca, Bayern & Real) and we should play to those strengths when its appropriate and keep the door firmly closed at the back. We also have a fantastic tippy-tappy unit to unlock those 10-man buses when it's appropriate.
As fans, it's often pretty obvious which formation we should be sending out and so it's not just with the benefit of hindsight that many of us are getting fed-up with Pellegrini now. Thanks for your first season our 'Charming Man' but we need to be moving onward and upward now.
So two articles in the Guardian that have cheered me up regarding next season:
- Guardiola to City
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/nov/26/pep-guardiola-bayern-munich-manchester-city
I know, I know it's only a rumour until it happens but it's not just an occasional titbit - he's been consistently linked to us, and no other team, for some time now.
and
it looks like we'll have our round badge back next season

YAY !!!
On a lighter note....

personally I'm fekkin fuming about this on two points.
I really like the eagle crest, it looks awesome and imposing and suits us
I have hundreds of pounds of City related things in my house from kits, dressing gowns for my kids, posters, glasses, cups etc.... and because of this stupid badge bollxxx they are all going to be obsolete
Not happy

yeah me too with a lot of stuff so I sympathise with that but all my original 60s and 70s shirts will be back in vogue - YAY!!!

That Rooney City legend one is bs for sure. His back is arched and the writing is perfectly straight!

no, you don't get away with that
____________
It was tongue in cheek...sort of.
I'm a Madrid fan, and we've got a bit of a track record for releasing managers after a title-winning season. I've generally disagreed with such decisions, but in some cases have understood why they were taken.
From the outside these moves are generally met with disbelief and criticism, but each club and its fans have their own expectations as to what a manager should or shouldn't achieve.
Fwiw, for all his failings I'd personally lean more towards Pellegrini than Mancini, who for my liking was far too risk-averse for the players he had at his disposal, but that's precisely because of the above - we all have our own expectations.

fair play, sorry I jumped on your comment.
Agreed.
Of the 2 I prefer Pellegrini's attacking style and non-confrontational manner but ideally, we'd just have an appropriate style for the opposition we play - I don't think that's too much to ask for from a top-flight manager.

No worries, my first post didn't really invite constructive debate; your reply was much more civil than it merited.
Appreciate what you say. I still like the guy, but have come to accept he isn't as top drawer as I wanted to believe.
