we played 90 minutes against a very poor side who barely got out their own half, and we still couldn't score. came very close to losing in the last few minutes - luckily ikeme had stayed awake to pull off a couple of good saves.
if that had been against hull or 'boro i'd have felt we performed well. against a relegation rival it was just not good enough.

I'm not painting everything as rosy in the garden but we've been worse this season, our heads didn't drop and we created chances - that hasn't always been the case.
If that game had come after an average rather than a poor run of form it'd be one of those days and we'd move on, trouble is it has come on the back of 1 win in 7 so it does add to the pressure Jackett and the squad must be feeling.

First thing that needs to change is playing Edwards and Afobe together, it simply doesn't work.
This division is quite simple, take games to the opposition and attack, goals win games, we set up not to lose first and foremost.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like your thinking Cinci but what you are suggesting would be a huge call from Jackett and if it didn't work the criticism would be massive. That said he is paid good money to make the tough decisions and it is getting to the stage where he needs to put preconceptions to one side and pick the team on what he sees on the field not reputations.
I'm with you
Afobe on the bench next game.

If you were morgan and you knew you were going would you have spent any money...........no.
To replace sako and dicko with like for like it would have cost us 15m at least.

I thought Morgan decided to go because of the abuse he got at Preston.
That is certainly what you have claimed in the past.

MK were toothless in attack and error prone in defence, it could hardly have been a better scenario for an easy home win. I would say it was a similar standard of performance to what we have become accustomed to. And I would struggle to give more than 6 out of 10 to any Wolves player except Ikeme and maybe one or two of the defence. We did create 3 decent chances but any decent team would have created much more against that opposition

agree that in a good season those kind of games are just bad days at the office. but this isn't a good season, and those kind of games are our norm rather than dips. we're not beating sides below us (mkd, brizzzzle, 9-man preston), and when we play better sides like derby and 'boro their better quality and squad depth shows even when we have decent spells in the game.
ONE quality front man would have changed Saturday's game IMO. but when the best we have on our bench is ALF and holt, and our first choice star striker is badly out of form and confidence, we look exactly what we are right now - a bottom half team.
as DJ said - beyond ikeme I don't think anyone deserved more than 6/10 Saturday. sad to say that graham was probably seen by many as the pick of the outfield players because at least he tried, even though his delivery was hit and miss. even sadder to say that seeing that, KJ took him off early to replace him with the pointless plodder from pool.

Maybe I'm being superstitious or irrational but "M" and "K" are two prominent letters in the abbreviated christian name of an ex-manager who always seems to have a hold over us. Could it be some kind of a hoodoo affecting the club? Just a thought...
