Chelsea v Southampton

Two very decent sets of tactics here.

It’s clear to see based on Chelsea’s starting 11 why they’re sitting top of the table, I was quite shocked to see a player of Kevin de Bruyne on the bench in this league – but then you look at the starting Chelsea midfield and you can only applaud the strength in depth.

As for Southampton… how on earth are they in the bottom 2? As well written a set of tactics I’ve seen (and I’ve read a lot over the years), and a starting 11 of real quality.

Perhaps it just shows the depth of the league? Or perhaps the Saints have just had more than their share of bad luck?

Anyhow…

Chelsea 2-0 Southampton

Overall Chelsea had the lion share of slots, but there were elements of the game where Southampton proved to be a right handful – they have enough quality to finish above the bottom 2 in the league

Stoke v Leicester

Having just done the Chelsea v Southampton match it strikes me that there is some real depth in this league. The likes of Stoke & Southampton are genuinely very good teams, I can see that Leicester will have a match on their hands here.

It would be fair of me to say that Leicester though are a fair step up from Stoke, there is some serious quality in that team, with an exciting brand of tactics to boot.
