What a difference a year makes!

On this day last year City lost 3-1 at home to Liverpool, making it 9 games without a win and were rooted to the bottom of the Premier League. and, as we all know, we remained there until mid-April with a win against Swansea taking us to 28 points.

Fast forward 12 months and we are already on 29 points at the beginning of December, equal on points to Man. City but at the top of the league this time!

I just want to admit here that when Claudio Ranieri was appointed I had real doubts about him and thought it would be a disaster - how wrong I was and I don't mind admitting it. So well done to him and all the players for making the season so far one beyond my wildest dreams. Long may it continue!!!

Leicester City took 22 points out of last 27 (9 games) under Pearson which works out at 2.444 points per game. Currently this season after 14 games its 2.071 points per game. Ranieri out To be fair Ranieri has been consistent from the start unlike Pearson.

The start of when? Pearson’s reign didn’t start last season he had two promotions with us before then. It’s true, however, that Pearson’s tenure was characterised by long runs of poor form and long runs of complete domination and success.

In a way statistical comparisons are worthless. Ranieri is managing a club now in the Premier League and is building on some very solid foundations. The club is now in a different place and the benchmark and expectations have changed.

Ranieri has already demonstrated some technical ability and flexibility of thought that was not often prevalent under Pearson. Ranieri is better with the media and player morale does not appear to have suffered during his regime. Now he just needs to prove himself in the transfer market. Weeding out bad eggs and introducing better players (ability and attitude) was Pearson’s great strength; although some would argue that a lot of this was down to the backroom team that Pearson brought in who are still at the club.

Any signing won't be down to Ranieri, he'll give Walsh a description and Walsh will find the player. Pearson's recruitment was so good because of Walsh.

I think you find Ranieri's connections are quite good was Walsh at Chelsea at the same time?

This may well be so, but to me it shouldn’t distract from the fact that Pearson had a great record in the transfer market. Pearson was the man who brought Walsh to the club. If Ranieri’s future success, in this respect, is purely down to ensuring that he keeps Steve Walsh happy and motivated then this is how he will be measured (although I suspect it’s a bit more complicated than that).

Surrounding yourself with the right people is another attribute of a very good manager - in any business.

Oh don't get me wrong Joby, I'm a huge Pearson fan and hugely value his contribution to our club and I will be forever grateful for what he's done and as you say, who he's brought to the club.

It was just a light hearted joke. I honestly didn't expect Leicester City to keep this form up especially Vardy. Leicester City are local rivals to Peterborough United as well.

Haha that game was on my birthday and Darren Ferguson birthday as well. Last game between the two clubs. Fitting a late winner.
