Or did Klopp choose Liverpool? You might say both, it was a mutual decision. I thought the same to begin with and thought how lucky we were to get him.
I am now starting to think that it was Klopp that chose Liverpool. He must of been doing his homework on Liverpool for the past few years. I think he has studied the club and players from afar. I find it strange that he took a little break from football but once Rodgers was sacked he decided he was ready again.
As we are learning more about how he sets his team up, its becoming clear that the majority of player at Liverpool are his kind of players. Strong attacking fullbacks, box to box midfielders who have great engines. He knows Firmino well from the Bundesliga, he also said that he tried to sign Origi when he was at Dortmund.
I'm not expecting many, if any transfers in January. I think he has all the tools he needs for now so can start planning for the summer.
Good times ahead for us pool supporters!
Did Liverpool choose Klopp?

There's inevitably going to be a number of blips like the Palace game along the way but hopefully Klopp is the man for the long term.

He wasn't really in demand to be honest.
--------
You know what, I agree with that.
However, at the end of this season he would have been in demand. Definitely, and if he had to choose from Arsenal, Man utd, Liverpool or Chelsea, we'd have been less sure about getting him.
You've got to chalk this one up to FSG. They did a quick analysis that of course Klopp is a better manager than Rodgers. Yes Rodgers would need to be paid off, but the risk that Klopp could go to a rival meant that they acted quickly.
Hats off to them.

Reminds me of a certain Jose Mourinho this season. Doesn't mean he's a bad coach all of a sudden. Also unlike Klopp Mourinho hasn't had to contend with losing his best players year after year.

Good riposte and to the point.
Of course Mourinho couldn't sign other clubs best players this year. Got blocked for Stones and had to make do with Falcao.
Klopp proving he isn't a chequebook manager. He's a proper coach.

i hope we now move to a method of transfers where we bring in just 1 top player 20-40m bracket each window to avoid disruption to the squad, we already have a great young squad, it just needs that sprinkling of magic that a few top players brings, rather than major overhauls constantly that destroy the teams balance

Jurgen is a maverick. He is his own man. On reflection, Brendan's time was up, the team/squad was in the doldrums, the job was there for the taking.
It's a good point on whether he was in demand or not. Lots of clubs/countries shy away from mavericks, too difficult to handle, never knowing what they are going to do or say. Look no further than Cloughie, the best manager, man-manager especially in my view that England never had.
With the turnaround he has achieved in such a short time - yes, long long way to go - he might not have been in demand before by other big clubs.
He would be now.
I just wonder how long we can hang on to the man.
