Another convincing performance, very similar to Newcastle, and another indicator that we're getting better.
I thought Drinky was class yesterday, he controlled everything and the difference in how we play when he has a good game versus average (against United) is phenomenal.
Kante WOW!! What a player this boy is!! It's one thing breaking up play the way he does but his turn of pace, his directness, his vision and his execution are top class. Fantastic ball to Mahrez (miles off by the way but oh well) and then his bursting run through the middle were brilliant.
Also how good is Vardy's touch? He kills balls dead out the air and makes it look easy. He'll be disappointed but one of those days and well you can't score every game, sometimes these things happen but I fancy him to score against Chelsea.
We looked very comfortable in defence again, still no goals and barely any efforts conceded on goal in open play and our attack isn't letting up, we should have had five or six yesterday though but I won't moan 😂
So Chelsea next and surely the most pessimistic of fans can see us winning that now? I can't see anything but a home win to go 20 points clear and the final nail in Mourinho's coffin? I think they'll lose to Porto as well but I'm not sure what that means in terms of qualification.
Roll on Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and City 😃
So how do we feel now?

It's taken me a long time to come to this view but I don't think the bubble will burst.
If that was going to happen, it would have done by now. To be top of the league in December having played Spurs, United, Arsenal, Palace, West Ham who are all having good seasons shows its no fluke.
However what I will say is that out of Spurs, United and Arsenal we only picked up 2 points. I think that shows us that we aren't quite ready to rock up into the top 4 this season but it's certainly looking like top 6 given current form.

I personally still don't think you will get top 4 but you are certainly surprising me with how consistent you are. I think in the long run you're squad will eventually show and you will drop off but I think you will do better than I said. I intintially said you will drop to 8th or 9th by feb but now I don't think that. I personally think you will get 6th. I still think we will come above you as possibly Liverpool will to

Your bubble will burst if you lose vardy and or Mahrez. If not there is no reason why you cannot dream of top 4/6. Even if it is unrealistic.
In recent weeks we have played Leicester, spurs and arsenal at home. And whilst you were somewhat fortunate to come away with the win, you were considerably better than the other 2
I think like most of the country, every wants leicester to oust the so called "bigger" largely London clubs

OOA agreed to an extent however we've won games without Mahrez in the line up as well. He has started a few times on the bench this season which shows we have some strength in depth
The key to our success is actually more down to the midfield engine. Kante and Drinkwater are the ones we absolutely can't afford to lose. If Mahrez or Vardy went, then yep it would impact us, but there are plenty of strikers and wingers out there who could finish off the chances that our midfield create.
They are getting the glory and rightly so, but they did pretty much nothing for most of last season when we didn't have the midfield engine firing on all cylinders

With be interesting to see if any of your main players do attract other clubs in January.

They will attract other clubs but I can't see any going in January. We don't need to sell, they are in long term contracts and clubs like Spurs and Everton won't really appeal given the position we are in at the moment.
If we were bottom half it would be different.
Summer is more of a concern depending on where we finish. If we somehow get top 4 then we're ok but if not, then United, City, Arsenal would be tempting for players like Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante etc.
Vardy won't go anywhere, he's the wrong side of 28 and he won't be guaranteed to start for the likes of Man Utd

So basically you agree with me now then Don? I said I expected 7th but now 6th with Chelsea down there and I fancied Liverpool for 4th but that Newcastle defeat was two steps back and Spurs do look stronger and more consistent certainly.

Our squad is a lot stronger than people give us credit for, we've got a players like Schlupp, Dyer, Inler, Kramaric, Okazaki if not Ulloa plus defenders that can't get a game but they're all well capable of doing the job required. Plus we don't really suffer with too many injuries. We've also proven they can be consistent for an entire season when they won the league.

Yeh I do agree with you arro although on another thread you said you will come above spurs and finish 4th I don't think you will finish top 4

Yeah fair enough, I just have a feeling we might do now Don, just have a sneaky feeling but there is more positive thinking in there than my prediction for 7th or 6th, which I'd still be really happy with.
