Great piece on us in the Guardian

http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/dec/05/louis-van-gaal-manchester-united-pep-guardiola-jurgen-klopp

Pretty good read. Seems spot on. What I didn't realize (and this is shocking) is that we've drawn 7 of our last 10 games!!! And with two tough fixtures coming up that could become 9 draws in 12 games.

Some of the stats in the piece are depressing like how we've passed the ball backwards more than any side in the league and how only Sunderland have taken fewer shots than us this season.

Indeed mu52 but LVG was brought in on a 3 year contract with a monstrous amount of money to spend.

He should be doing much better at this stage. I genuinely don't care if we don't win anything under him. I just want to see fun football. Its really not that hard to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Indeed, he was given a monstrous amount of money to spend and had to create a brand new team as you Robb said they were rubbish under Moyes.

But let us look at this money he has spent, shall we?

2 players (Di Maria and Martial) 100m

Then let us see who he has brought in (Herrera and Shaw were in the pipeline already) so another 60m

So 160m. You championed the sale of Di Maria who since departed for 44m.

The rest;

Blind - 14m
Rojo - 16m
Bastian - 12m
Morgan - 25m
Memphis - 25m
Darmian - 14m
Romero - Free
Valdes - Free

We then have moved on close to 20 players. Yes, I would love to see more entertaining football but we are still in transition.

For someone who always champions the "grey" adverts of debate, to be fair, only with Moyes. You seem to adopt the black and white approach here.

Why is that?

MUD - You want to give him more time, fair enough. But don't have a pip for those of us that have the foresight to realise LVG isn't going to make us title contenders again and should be replaced with a more capable manager such as guardian or Ancelottti.

3 windows and millions spent and he still bleats we don't have an aguero or suarez or any pace. Not good enough.

The sad thing is that we could bring in someone like Carlo now and he could add a bit more urgency to our play and take this current side to the title.

I get the feeling that LVG will pass up that opportunity and have us settle for 3rd place.

Reddevils..."have the foresight to"
Just a little arrogant I think.

And Robb, maybe Carlo would, and maybe he wouldn't. Neither of us know. Perhaps we don't have the foresight! I certainly don't.

A couple of big winnable games at home in psv and west ham have passed by without a goal and largely without excitement. Add these to some, nearly all performances this season and most of last. If you still think lvg is the right man i cannot see the evidence. Looking like consecutive seasons where there are no outstanding sides really. Plenty of opportunities to make a statement on the pitch but nothing of any note in the last 7 or so games.

How is it arrogant? I'm confident we won't win anything under LVG and therefore want him replaced sooner rather than later. Not sure why those can see this to be the case now should be hassled about it.

I have not had a go at people who are not happy with the manager. That is their prerogative.

The 2 people I distinctly challenge when they whine about the manager are Robb and Cleverson who were vociferous in their criticism of anyone who criticised Moyes who was doing a far worse job.

I have asked both of them to explain to me how we can take them seriously. That is about it.

If LvG is sacked tomorrow, I would lose no sleep over it

Should we be in such 'transition'? Some of the deadwood had to go. But LVG's gone completely overboard and has left us threadbare. We could certainly use Hernandez, Januzzai and Nani now.
