Would really like us to take the competition seriously but I highly doubt we will.
I am obviously gutted we are knocked out of such an easy group, but you reap what you sow and we deserve what we got. I'm intrigued how we will dust ourselves down from this set back.
What tonight has reinforced is that Van Gaal majorly messed up by leaving us so painfully thin. We only have 6 injuries and we look so dreadfully light.
I was very much Van Gaal in, I like his character and strength as a manager, but what he is getting us to produce is starting to wear thin and it's coming to a point where I'm really not enjoying watching us play any more. He has bought well on the whole and sold the right players too, but I feel slightly cheated by his tactics and feel a bit let down that he couldn't take the template of the good football we played at the end of last season and upgraded it a little. I'm now debating with myself that Van Gaal has taken us as far as he can. A commendable mentality shift after the Moyes ship wreck and some important foundations laid, but ultimately it may now be time for somebody new to build upon them.
West Ham on Saturday, instead of watching the game, I decided to take my son out for the day and I was so pleased I did when reading up on the match afterwards. Bullet well and truly dodged.
I wonder what a manager like Carlo Ancelotti, a man who would bring a totally fresh aspect to Van Gaal, who embraces attacking football and freedom of expression would have us playing like.
I'd be okay with Van Gaal being given the Jan window to add some quality, but if you offered me Carlo right now, I think I'd opt for the latter without a minutes hesitation.
Europa League & LvG.

I hope we make a go of it. People are too quick to write it off. Whether we will is another matter

I'd love us to go all out and try and win it.
I hope the players don't go snobby and act like they are too good to be in it. They're the ones who played themselves into the Europa so should be professional and try and win the damn thing.

Players are spoilt brats, but the will to win it should come down from the top, and they should heed. Not like they are on minimum wage is it?

I see us 99.9% chance of winning Europa league. In a way it's a positive in that regard as Real Madrid would probably destroyed us in CL final.

I hope we take it seriously.
Let's face it, we are in no position to be snobbish about trophies these days.
