Michael Owen relishing sticking the knife in tonight. He's listed all the players LVG has sold and how good a team it would be. yes Micky! Ask David Moyes how that approach played out? Truth is a lot didn't handle Fergies departure well and the squad needed an overhaul. Too many of them sulked and didn't turn up.
Yes LVG has spent a lot but we've recouped a lot through sales. PLEASE remember where we were under Moyes. As a club we were complete freefall, so yes finishing 4th and getting in the CL was good for us as it was an improvement. STOP harping about the Fergie years they are GONE!! LVG has never claimed this is the finished article. His favourite phrase is 'it's a process'. It'll take years to rebuild and the team has a lot of potential with the younger players. We don't have a divine right to be successful.

A bit tired of the whole "he got us 4th" chat... Not a chance in hell would he have got us 4th if he'd been manager the season before.
I'm not calling for the guy's head... But let's not kid ourselves that we are so much better ... Some things are better, some are worse... Some of his player decisions were good, dome were bad

I'm disappointed in the likes of Rio, Scholes and Owen banging about the old years. Everyone knew it would be the end of an era when Fergie left. At least LvG has steadied the ship which is more than Moyes could do. Why can't people understand its work in progress? We could blow millions on the finished article players but there is a lot of competition for them so we've bought potential albeit expensive potential. If LvG gets us into the top four again and leaves in the summer I'd always be happy with the job he has done from the laughing stock we were with Moyes. From some of the comments it's like the Moyes season never happened!

Moyes did no worse. He spent a lot less. He bought Fellaini and Mata. Will we finish top 4. Not on current form. What then for LVG?

Why have they even got an all United punditry team anyway? Just because it's United playing doesn't mean we have to hear thoroughly biased thoughts from people who think United have a divine right to win all the time.

The best thing to happen to UTD in the last two seasons was Suarez being sold... Thank fwock for that

I don't think you could accuse them of sugar coating or bias towards United though could you?

Well a little bit yeah. It's always how United are poor and should do better, not so much the other team playing well. That's what you get with passionate United fans on your panel I suppose.

I love it when people talk about Moyes' time in charge like it lasted for a decade or something, we finished outside the top for once in the PL era yet some fans go on like we were in the wilderness for years.
The ship steadying should have been one season then kick-on for a genuine title challenge and a run in the CL.
LvG has done, and until tonight, continued to do the bare minimum that should be expected of a United manager, that doesn't mean he's done a good job, if you get an E- in an exam you've passed, but you still haven't done well.
