Charlton Athletic v Bolton Wanderers

Wanderers make the long midweek trip to the valley tonight, a personal favourite away day back in the premier league days as always seemed to have one parking space next to a home only pub which we always got in. Things are so different now as things go from bad to worse. The latest is the players can give 12 days notice to quit the club if as seems unlikely they remain unpaid by 30th December. A must win game tonight as bolton bottom of the league have 12 points, 5 behind charlton 4th bottom so a defeat and 8 point gap is unthinkable. Some stats. Bolton last won at the valley in 2005, Bolton 1 win in 26, charlton 2 wins in 16..Charlton unbeatable in the last 5 v bolton with 2 wins and 3 draws. Team news. Casado is available after suspension, clough has boarded the coacb south so could be on the bench, vela (arm), madine (illness), pratley(concussion) should be available. Unsure of Dervite or silvas availability, ameobi almost certainly out with a groin strain and clayton out long term. Tom eaves played for the under 21s last night so could come into 1st team contention soon. Commentary on tower fm 107.4.

The way Fulham played tonight they could have easily nicked something its a tough ask maybe a point and 3 on boxing day would do

Re long term injuries with players being out for a very long time or retired had absolutely no luck since holdengot iinjured. Add muamba, lee, mavies multiple times, clough, clayton twice. So many more its just ridiculous.

since the sam way went out the window we must have had a go at every other way of keeping a fit squad. It's like a curse now

Cheers Benny I watched them again before commenting when I first saw the goals I thought Amos could have better with both. I am now convinced he should have done better today its as if he wasn't concentrating and getting his positioning sorted.
Two good goals from the whites and Heskey now has the crown of the oldest Championship scorer

Considering bolton were 2 goals down and charlton hit the post in the 2nd half its a point gained. Really needed 3 points though as now 6 points off safety and the gap getting bigger all the time. Really need to be in the mid twenties points wise, 13 not enough at this stage. Need a run of 5/6 games unbeaten mainly winning to catch up. Suppose this all boils down to the lack of quality in the squad and no money spent in the last 2 years. Too much dross brought in. Could be administration soon so it will be all irrelevant anyway.

Without investment we are going down one way or the other. Still no investment and proposed takeovers dragging out.

The longer they take trying to raise the necessary money, the less chance of it happening before we go into administration. The ball game changes then.

If you had offered a draw at the start of the game I would have sworn at you. If however, you'd told me we'd started 2-0 down and drawn I'd have taken it.

Just watched the highlights - Think blaming Amos for both goals is harsh. The first shot is a more difficult to stop than you'd imagine.

Speaking of the first goal - that looked like an episode of the Benny Hill show on speed in the build up.

Nice to see Liam Feeney almost beating himself as well as the defender in the build up to him crossing for Heskey's goal.

Now now TMP I said "I thought Amos could have better with both" The first he juddered should I shouldn't I go for it no stand tall star oups no I falling backward his reaction said it. The second too slow realising the shot wasn't coming near post ended up a flap gesture.
I think there should be some thought into the jinx theory he's in between the sticks 100% of the time he points a finger and shouts at defenders you think to indicate where he wants them or warning of danger but this finger point magically opens the door. If we survive until Eastleigh keep a close watch out on the jinx theory. If not that what about Feng Shui.

Some good news coming out of the club this afternoon is that money has been found and the Staff WILL be paid for Christmas.
