BEARD Liberation Front slams Rangers for being prejudiced against the hairy after hipsters at the youth academy were served with the ban.
Rangers ’ ban on beards has been slammed as a return to the Dark Ages.
And campaigners the Beard Liberation Front last night called for it to be lifted.
The group – who campaign against “beardism and irrational prejudice against the hirsute" – rounded on the Ibrox club after they outlawed beards at their youth academy.
And they may have a point because some of Rangers’ most distinguished players – including legend John Greig – sported facial hair.
BLF organiser Keith Flett said: “Rangers are a traditional club but this is taking things too far.
“ Having a beard doesn’t make a player lazy or less good in front of goal or in the midfield.
“Beards can add gravitas and presence on the sporting field.
This is 2015, not 1815. Players should be able to decide for themselves how they appear provided it does not affect their performance. We’re calling on Rangers to lift this ban."
Head of youth development Craig Mulholland imposed it, saying: “We look at discipline on and off the pitch. It can be simple things."
Aye tidy yerselfs up ya scruffy bunch.
Nae Hipsters at Ibrox ohh nae hipsters at Ibrox

Personally I think that a beard is a sign of manliness.
The bigger and bushier the beard, the more masculine the man
