Credit where credit is due.......

So here we are about to pretend that we are all enjoying our Christmas Days festivities etc. but deep down we will all be hoping that Santa brings us 3 points away at Anfield on Boxing Day.
We are top at Christmas with a gap over 3rd then a healthy gap over 4th, 5th and 6th and it's nice to see a number of supporters of other clubs and so called experts now taking us seriously.
There are still a number of opinions ( Danny Mills!!!!) and now Arsenal fans still saying that we will fall away........ To be fair they have been saying that for months now yet we are still winning!!!
Maybe the other teams should concentrate on winning themselves rather than focusing on us falling away.
If that's what's it's come to for them then it says a lot about them and their mindset.
I also want to give credit to Palace, Watford and even Bournemouth in the last few games. We are all exceeding pre season expectations and playing some fantastic attacking football that is being rewarded.
A lot is being said about our League being poor but I have to say that there is so much quality ( apart from Villa 😉) and nobody can just turn up and get three easy points anymore.
Also to claim it's a poor season is disrespectful to us and the other clubs mentioned, we can only beat the teams /players that our opponents put out.
So credit where it's due.......
I for one am enjoying this season more than any other, it's unpredictable, exciting and it's good to see the normal top four not dominating as usual.
Long may we all continue to prove people wrong.

The PL is evolving back to what it was known for.The possession game and continental style is dead. Us and the 3 teams you mention ( palace, Watford and Bournemouth) have got a faster, more direct, positive way of playing and are reaping the rewards.

The only 4 teams I actually like to watch, followed by arsenal, the rest..... Ppfff.

Good luck, I hope you do it. Then all the so called "pundits" can eat their words, (fat chance). It's a long time since a midlands club won the league.

It's only a poor season because the rich clubs are not as good as you, (sour grapes).

Happy Christmas.

In fairness the line gets trotted out regularly, we have had it with the last few United title wins and we are a pretty rich club.

It is exactly as you said though, sour grapes.

Yeah great article Tommy 👍👏

One of my mates is a Watford fan and he was confident when they came up of finishing around 15th though they look a lot better than that.

Interestingly he told me Flores said they're using Leicester as a blue print and like you say, this fast, direct approach is proving too difficult for teams to cope with and it's great. Football is exciti again.

Loving to see Bournemouth doing well, I thought they were doomed when they lost their key players to injury so what they've done to turn it around is outstanding.

Palace are also doing brilliantly and Pardew joked that we're taking all their limelight and its true. There are a lot of positive stories across the league and it is without doubt the most exciting PL season ever I think.

West Ham will be dangerous again when Payet, Sakho and Lanzini are all available again and I think Payet is close.

The change to the league is that the big clubs will have points taken off them so Man city etc can't say we are going to get x number of points. The old adage of you can't win the League if you lose more than five games might be challenged. although to date we have lost one might be tested in the upcoming games. In some ways i would like to get a defeat out the way.

Mondays match between ManK city and Arsenal was seen by some as a title decider. That's the old days when your only defeats came against your top 3 rivals this season its going to be different.

Thanks to our four musketeers. I will enjoy our Christmas at the top and now we will see what others have learned about combating us and see if Santa Claudio will buy us in January.

Previous seasons the top team averages 2.5 points a game, if leicester are averaging that then are as good as utd..cfc and city in previous seasons. Don't be fooled, leicester are the real deal

Don't forget that this just isn't this season. Its been going on since April culminating in a run of

P26 W18 D6 L2 F56 A31 Pts60 - the 2 losses being arsenal and Chelsea (when they were good)

Averaging 2.3 ppg - that would get us 87 over a season
