Andy Carroll for £35m was spectacular, but not as spectacular as £50 for a completely knackered Torres. The only thing that redeemed Liverpool for Carroll was the fact that they had robbed Chelsea for even more.

The team we put out would have smashed them at home, but away we still looked too narrow and it was often all to congested when we finally managed to get into their penalty area. Obviously it didn't help that Sergio and Silva are not quite there yet, but I can see what Pel was trying to do with Navas and Bony coming on, the downside being that with Bony so far from form we lost our potency in attack.

Normally we'd rely on width from fullbacks, but I thought Kolarov had a particularly wretched game. Otamendi and Mangala did well enough for me, but Leicester still posed a threat, and that was mainly due to a lack of mobility in front of our central defenders. Fernandinho did not have the best of games, and Yaya, for most of us, is finished playing that DM role away from home.

Most will say a draw was a fair result, I don't think anybody would have complained had we edged it 0-1 either. Good result away from home against the in form side, but with another away game against another in form side coming up, it's important we finally start to show some ambition ourselves, especially with Spurs creeping up.
