Mark Beevers!
Never heard of him, never seen him play, but apparently he was 2008's Fans Player of the Year at Hillsborough....
The big man has arrived at the Dons on a 4 month loan deal. The big question is why did they let him go?

And Rob Jones plays a perfect ball out of defence everytime does he? Utter rubbish and anyway don't you want your defenders to defend!
He is the best ball playing defender at the club........well was

It wasn't that long ago that Beevers attracted Prem interest. He suffered last season (as we fans did too) in a dire squad of very poor players (like Potter!! ) There's every chance with a new team, new opportunity and new manager, he will rediscover his potential.
I always liked Beevers, he simply lost his way in one of our worst seasons ever. Good luck to him

Well Potter is doing pretty well here, i've only seen him play a couple of times but he seems to fit in.
And our style of play is the oppositte to 'lump it up'. I would be very surprised if the young lad is allowed to persist with that style while with us.

Gary Mac was a lump it centre half a year ago, but has got better and better at his distribution.
Our biggest problem this season has been a lack of height defending set pieces and he'll certainly help in that respect.
Without having any inside info on this, I'd say a four month loan looks very much like a potential transfer if all parties are happy at the end of the loan period. Slightly strange of Wednesday to loan out to a Promotion/Play Off rival if it's solely about getting match fitness.

I agree it is strange, even assuming there is a clause we can't play him against them they still must see us a rival. I can only think they need the money and we are a good shop window.
Robbo is on BBC transfer site saying there might be one more. It like Xmas come early.

Mark Beevers certainly has height, he was good for us.
We allowed him to go to you because he needs to find his way for us and as he's down the pecking order, its probably good for you and us. Also, how is Darren Potter doing?

I like him, he isn't as bad as some of you have said. I think he needs to make himself available for the ball more and I think he can also use his 6ft physical presence better, but a good signing and definitely a Robbo type of player.

Potter's barely made a stray pass in his time with us. Ball retention is key to our play and he fits the bill perfectly. We've got plenty of incisive players around and in front of him to do the creative stuff.
Two of them (Gleeson and Williams) also like a tackle too, so we were never looking for a ball winner with Potter, just someone capable of keeping our momentum going when in possession. Can't fault him on that front.

Apparently he has been a key man for sheff W the last four years, and played plenty of games for a 21 year old. Wonder if thats the whole story, because if so why have they loaned him out. Seems like he will be good cover though

By no means has he been a key man, otherwise we wouldn't have let him go.
