MASSIVE REBUILDING JOB

Watched the game yesterday but thought I'd take stock and evaluate where we are as a club at this moment in time and it's not pretty. Yesterday pretty much summed our side and our current predicament up, we were bang average, had no fight, desire, heart, ambition and most of all will to win. It's clear that we need a massive reshuffle in terms of players because we aren't going anywhere anytime soon with the current crop that Klopp has at his disposal. Now that the euphoria has well and truly died down it's clear to see that although Klopp is a world class manager he has got an absolutely staggering rebuilding job to do here if he wants us to be competitive again.

This side he has inherited is the culmination of three years work that Brendan Rodgers had assembled and it's going to take at least 2 to 3 transfer windows to slowly get rid of players who simply aren't good enough to wear the red shirt and don't have the mentality to want to be winners. Just watching Klopp on the sidelines yesterday you could see how frustrated he was that the players can't even take stock of the most basic instructions, these days fans want quick success and I was staggered to read on the LFC forum yesterday that people were criticizing Klopp already (small minority) The guy has been in charge for just over 4 months, hasn't had a pre season, hasn't had a transfer window.

The reality is that we are an average team with a weak mentality and although Klopp has said previously he wouldn't be making any signings in January I hope yesterday seriously opened his eyes to how mediocre some of our bunch are. I'm expecting absolutely nothing from this campaign and just hope that he is given substantial time to turn this around because if Klopp can't then we'll be in the doldrums for years to come.

People significantly underestimate what a difference only a couple of players and a bit of confidence can make.

Liverpool are always rebuilding. You have so many average players, you need to stick with a manager for 5 years and build slowly out of this.

Gegenpressing? I'm watching it now, by a team called Spurs. V good game of football, different styles being played by each side, cracking goals from Lenon and Alli, esp Alli; one bounce and then back of the net, goalie didn't even see it.

This post, well-meaning I'm sure, mirrors many others done over the last 24 hours, calling for dramatic change. On reflection, following that path would probably make us worse. Yes, the team were abysmal, but they are still good players.

Yes, I think Jurgen will drop into the transfer market, but not on a large scale as hoped for by some. Not until the summer anyway. Following their first goal, the confidence drained out of our side, and they never recovered from it. Any fight died with that goal.

Patience people, have faith in the manager, a happy-go-lucky chappie who the world laughs with, but a very steely individual who I would want or like to cross or upset.

Klopp will sort us out given time, he is still working with the average players that Rodgers had.

Not massive, just pretty extensive.

We need PROVEN quality now! No more potential, no more raw talent. We need experienced winners in their prime.

With Rodgers we were on a road to nowhere.

With Klopp we're going to be pulled up, get a new feeling about the place and stay hungry. His mind is set on generating a new feeling about the place. Soon we're all gonna be wanting to stay up late to watch television man Lineker introduce our latest winning performance.

It may not be a perfect world but he'll soon be burning down the house with a team that will swamp the opposition. People like us will be back in the city of dreams living the wild, wild life at the top.

I think Rodgers deserved and earned more time

But I'm really happy we have Klopp

The two things aren't mutually exclusive

We should have sacked Rodgers in the summer, the 6-1 by Stoke was the heavens way of telling us. Perhaps this season wouldn't be a write off then because I still cant believe he survived that. Big mistake to keep him into the season.
