Undertale - Am i missing something?

Over 2 hours now, still not getting it........

Ugh, go back to your CoD then and leave the REAL games for people who are intelligent enough to actually GET them.

... Seems to be the attitude of a large part of the fanbase. The hype is similar to that around Portal in 2007-08, with people endlessly repeating "The cake is a lie" as if it was the funniest thing in existence.
I held off on Portal for a few years and it actually did turn out to be one of the best games I've ever played, so I'll let you know in 2020 what I really think of Undertale.

So apart from the slightly stupid response have you actually played Undertale or not? And is it worth sticking with?

As like the original post says im 2 hours into a game that im not finding particularly interesting, well written, innovative, or that funny, yet that is what so many people have said is great about - should i stick with it?

Nope, not played it. As I said when a game is hyped up this much I give it time to die down before playing. Then I can enjoy it (or otherwise) on its own merits, rather than an expectation that I should enjoy it.

I wasn't being serious with my opening line, I was parodying those that worship Undertale and hate those who don't.

Lol you are quickly becoming the biggest beach around. Did that truly offend you? Yet you go around mistaking people's joke comments as sincere.

So 160mins in, have decided for science I will complete at least 1 play through. Though my opinion still isnt really changing too much.

One thing I would also say is i dont think this is really an rpg. Seems much more a linear story game like telltale games.

Maybe I am too old for this game? Having played through stuff like Monkey Island, which i found much more amusing than this. For all the hilarity in this game the best I have managed is a small snort.
