It looks more and more likely that this will actually happen, I am still far from convinced that it would be the right appointment but I think a growing number of fans are coming to some sort of acceptence that this will happen.
Despite LVGs faults I believe he has left whoever takes over a decent base to build on a few additions here and there witht he right tactics and motivation there is the makings of a good side.
So if Giggs does take the reigns what would be considered a success in his first year. I personally think anything beyond CL spot and a good run in one of the cups would be a bonus. However, I think I would be willing to give him time to even acheive this, if there were signs that we were headed in the right direction. What are people's thoughts/expectations if Giggs does take over?

To me it doesn't look any more likely than it did two years ago.

It would be a terrible appointment. He hasn't served a long enough period in coaching and he has no charisma to speak of. You are probably the biggest club in the world, you need a manager to fit that status.

People go on about experience, but basically you are either a good manager or you're not, and the only way we'll find that out is when/if Giggs gets the job.
My gut feeling is that I don't think he'll make a great manager, but I'd gladly be proved wrong. The plan seems to be for him to take over from LVG, but of course nothing is set in stone.
