It is increasingly obvious that Barnsley’s transfer activity this summer will be restricted due too financial constraints.

Freebies! This summer there are a lot of good players available for nothing and, whilst there is no way we will be first choice for most of those players, it is still worth debating who we should try and bring in on a free.

Isaiah Osbourne, midfielders from Villa, Championship experience
Jordon Mutch, think he played at Donny, talented midfielder
Giles Barnes, would be a good opportunity to re-establish himself at Oakwell
Danny Shittu, been linked to us before, maybe a replacement for Shackell
Dean Shields, Doncaster, solid performer at this level
Wade Elliot, if only lol
