How are Otamendi & Mangala miles ahead of Aldeweireld, Gabriel etc?
If the Premier league standards are dropping, then it's because of teams like Man City & Man Utd who are paying exorbitant fees to import sub standard players.
It almost smacks of laziness & lack of effort. Instead of doing the hard yards to scout talent, just buy an expensive player because he must be good.....

I said this on another thread. I do think Pellegrini is a good manager but his scouting team has been shocking.
I don't think anyone needed scouts to identify KDB and Sterling so apart from those two, I'm struggling to find a decent player who he has bought.

Compared to Leicester who do the opposite and scout quality young talent for peanuts.
Liverpool and United are equally guilty of wasting money. It seems every player is £25m plus and you've never heard of any of them but for some reason they're valued at these ridiculous sums.
I think this is the first season where it's been proven that you don't need to spend silly money anymore, better teamwork and better recruiting from clubs with smaller budgets is reaping rewards.

Otamendi dives a lot for a defender!. It is his first season here, he may make mistakes.
