As-salamu alaykum united fans.I am a Gunner who comes in peace
I have been wondering about the appointment of LVG and how things have unravelled to this extent especially in light of the fact that he replaced David Moyes.
Obviously my concern is based on the fact that our club will also have to replace a long standing manager and despite his lack of success in terms of trophies his ability to keep Arsenal relevant as a top club and fairly competitive is undoubted with some unreal consistency levels that will be difficult to reprise for the next man in charge.
Too many people think its a matter of appointing a Pep, Conte or a Mourinho but it is simply not that easy. The premiership is different.Pep can go and win trophies at Bayern, Barca or Real but trust me he is not guaranteed any trophies when he joins City as brilliant as he is.
Coming back to United, I would like to think LVG is a good manager, probably a better manager than Wenger or Pellegrini, The united squad although not as good as City but is as good as Arsenal and Chelsea. He has been given money to spend, lots of money. Without Mourinho some may want to argue LVG is the best manager in the league.
His CV proves that and only a few weeks before he joined united he led a brilliant Holland to 3rd place at the world cup, something the bloke managing Chelsea contrived to stuff up in a matter of months. We saw the football at the world cup, we have seen his philosophy at other clubs so why hasnt it worked? Did he not get support?
For me if I had to point a finger the biggest blame would go to Ed Woodward and his management team. They seem to have no clue about football, managed the transition from Fergie so badly and appointed the wrong man at the club and whoever else you appoint as long as they run the club I think you may struggle.
I do think they made the right call by not firing LVG as that would have just spun the club from one crisis to another. At the moment you need stability. Then from stability you need to make a well thought out call on the next manager with the necessary support and at least a decent vision on how things will be achieved with a clear plan on how long it should take and this vision must be shared with the fans.
Just wanted to hear your thought on the whole thing and what you would advise us Arsenal fans in terms of the next manager and what we should expect!

to be fair we are still in the title race.
lets be honest, we are crap at the minute, but noone seems to want to win the league this year, so until someone steps up and goes on a run ( which we are more than capable of given our personel, if LVG decides to allow us to get the ball forward quicker) then we are still in with a chance.
lets not forget, it was only just over a month ago we were right at the top.
things can change quickly.

Does anyone else on here really believe fellaini played up top in that first half? It was as clear as day that fellaini and Bastian were in CM in the first 45 mins.
VC, show how objective you can be

Owen said at the start of the second half that fellaini had pushed much further forward and Herrera had dropped deeper with Schweinstieger.
having said that, in the first half Fellaini wasnt exactly sitting deep as he didnt have too.

I can't be objective on this. I didn't watch the game.
I saw the team sheet and couldn't be bothered.

Do you have the traffic stats for Saturday?

Just to put any question on Fellaini in perspective, he should not be starting games for United unless everyone else is injured, and there are no traffic cones available.
