1.Lack of pulling power
Saunders has been at the top of the domestic scene for a while yet to reach the superstar status the UK. A world title however creates an opportunity for him to build his notoriety and stock.Having never fought in the US also hurts his stock over the pond, therefore he should be aiming to get some mileage behind the Saunders name. Fighting Golovkin could catapult his name but his current stock is not high enough for him to reap any considerable rewards other than a small amount financially.Team Saunders should therefore look to build there man up, having a Golovkin fight in mind as the ultimate goal.
2.A green world champion
Billy Joe Saunders is 26 and has had 23 fights with only one outside of England.Apart from Andy Lee he has not faced the calibre of fighters
required at world level. Golovkin on the other hand has 34 fights and has defeated a host of world level fighters in decisive fashion. Saunders
would gain more by earning some experience by fighting world level opponents and building his skill set.Facing GGG as his first title defence would be commendable but unwise as a career move. Some times jumping into the deep end can be beneficial in this case however
that deep end is occupied by a blood thirsty great white.
3.Financially nonsensical
A fight with Golovkin promises to be his most lucrative bout to date, however just how much would he be amassing? As we have mentioned, Saunders is a non entity in the US and hardly a star in the UK,which means Golovkin would be receiving the lions share.Going overseas to the
US and facing top level opposition in the division would not only improve his stock but it would also provide financial rewards minus the additional risk. Fellow middleweights such as Cotto, Canelo, Jacobs,Quillin,Lemieux and N'Dam all present intriguing challenges whilst also providing rewarding financial returns. Once Saunders has constructed a formidable resume and gained some popularity, he can enter negotiations with team GGG with a lot more to offer than just a gold belt.
4.Credibility unscathed
If Saunders was to avoid the Golovkin fight, boxing fans wouldn't have much to bemoan simply because it is a common occurrence. Two world class fighters in Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez have failed to test there skills against Golovkin whilst the rest of the middleweight division has followed suit. Those brave enough to make the step up have ended up falling considerably short. Saunders being a relative unknown quantity at world level could afford to swerve a GGG fight at this point in his career, simply because the bigger fishes in the division have done the exact same thing.
Thoughts on Billy Joe Saunders next move?
Reasons why Billy Joe Should Avoid GGG.

Yeah aa long as he sticks with Frank and box nation, he won't become a UK superstar. He needs to get with matchroom and sky. They promote the hell out of their fighters and when it comes down to it, it's the football casuals that you need to attract. Box nation had the hardcores but that isn't doing anything for him. I want him to get to recognition he deserves but if he stays with Frank, he won't get it.

I didn't say world class fighters I said world "level".
The following would be classed as world level in my opinion:
Martin Murray
David Lemieux
Marco Rubio
Daniel Geale
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Beating these level fighters easily whilst calling out Cotto, Canelo, Froch etc etc.
Is it his fault that fights against "world class" fighters cant be made? His promoter? Or is it the fault/fear of the "world class" fighters themselves?

GGG can only beat what's been put infront of him, not his fault that Canelo is scared to death of him and that Cotto knows he'd be retired by him.
While its commendable that Saunders wants a piece of GGG (apparently), he'd be best served building his brand and reputation off the back of a few more wins to make it a fight that simply has to be made.
