Regarding the Fellaini penalty which everyone keeps saying was dodgy, I saw this pic on twitter:

How is this not a pen? Can we stop with the dodgy pen stuff, this handball looks even worse in an angle from behind the goal but i can't find a video for it.
Also, the Smalling vs Mitrovic incident happens all the time and the ref always blows his whistle and has a word with them.
I thought it was very harsh on smalling but a lesson learnt for him. He has done it before and there is no need for it.

I get a feeling the Smalling penalty was given in response to the ref getting a little nod from a lino or 4th official that the Fellaini tackle was a nailed on penalty.

Savage, more so than any other commentator, just says words. I long ago learnt to remove any meaning or reasoning from his words, he just likes words and how they sound coming out of his mouth.

I thought all 3 were pens although maybe the Smalling one was a little harsh because although Smalling probably started it, Mitrovic was far more aggressive.

I mean how can you come to that conclusion? Awful commentator.

It was a clear pen. Also Newcastle has a clear pen not given. Can't remember who made the foul, Lingaard I think. But it was blatant

You are probably on about the Lingard one.
Ji you sure your not on about the Lingaard one as well?
The Fellaini on Colback I haven't seen anyone else claim as a penalty.

Agree completely, DJ.

My opinion is that I didn't think ours was a penalty initially but the more I saw it, the more I think it was, due to the fact his arm was placed as far away from his body as was physically possible. I dont think the Newcastle one was a penalty as they were clearly fouling eachother.
The most clear penalty of all was the Lingard foul. We definitely got away with one there, so overall we were fortunate

The thing that makes it all the more clear that the Smalling one wasn't a penalty is that even though he did grab the shirt first, he did that before the ball came into Olay, when it was dead. If the ref sees this, he should blow up and warn the player. By the time the ball becomes active, both players are at it and he should only give a decision based on that
