No wages for staff on due date.

Things just don't get any better. Staff at the Macron, Euxton and Lostock have been told there is no money to pay them till some money comes in from the sale of assets.

The great benefactor of the club Eddie Davies in cahoots with our past esteem Chairman, Phil Gartside have made a complete mess of the club and have taken us to a new low. We have never had to experience such depths of moral sucking catastrophic events, in the history of the club.

One member of this forum still believes that we will remember Gartside, as a shining light in the history of our club. For me and I suspect many others, he and Eddie will be remembered for taking the club to it's knees.

Let's hope that our proud old club can find a way to overcome the present devastation.

Here is the article.

STAFF at Bolton Wanderers have been told they will not be paid on time in January, The Bolton News understands.

Around 300 full and part-time administration and managerial staff based at the Macron Stadium in Horwich, Academy in Lostock and training ground at Euxton were informed this morning that their January salary would not be paid as usual, with funds usually due in accounts by the 21st of the month.

A statement released by the club reads: “Bolton Wanderers has stated that due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s current funding position, it has been unable to confirm to its staff today that they will receive their wages for the month of January on the due dates.

“Every effort continues to be made by the board of directors and its advisers to pay staff and also resolve the longer term funding issue during what remains a difficult and challenging time for the football club."

Sources within the club had indicated that salaries would not be an issue this month with the impending sale of car parking land to the Emerson Group, who own Middlebrook Retail Park.

That deal has not happened quickly enough for the cash to be moved through the accounts, leaving a workforce already sapped of morale now facing financial issues of their own.

One member of staff, who asked not to be named, told The Bolton News: “People are absolutely on their knees at the moment. We don’t know what to do.

“The uncertainty has been a killer but no-one has said a thing since the last meeting we had way back in December. We didn’t know if this month’s salary was coming or not.

“We’ll get through it and pull together as we always do, but this is no way to treat loyal staff."

It's painfully obvious that none of the bidders have the cash to go ahead.

The last person we need heading a takeover is Disley. The very thought of it makes me shudder.

The club and the Beano both told us Monday full details of the car park deal would be announced. Since it's all gone quiet do we take it the last one out today will stick the announcement on the door. Overuse of Tipex is a possibility hence a delay as they try to work out what we should be spun.

I admit I am frustrated with the lack of communication coming from our Club, Are they talking to the Trust? or is that failing already?

Theres nothing but lies coming out of the club. They had better be careful because they will be wanting season ticket money for next season soon and a lot of people will just say do one.

The trust say they are very happy with the board and are being kept up to date with events. It's a shame they are keeping it to themselves.

I thought the trust were for the fans. If so they should divulge the information they receive or it absolutely pointless them being given the information.

Also if the board can keep the trust updated why on earth do they not give a press release?

Benny
The income from next seasons season ticket income has been mortgaged already so it would not surprise anybody if they asked for it in advance so they could pay the instalments I imagine they didn't factor in a slump in sales when they took out the mortgage on them I'll wager big Ed wants to dump that one on some unsuspecting passer by.
Now where's the supporters trust ! oh that's right chatting in secret with Trev and the gang.

Sports Shield Am I bothered do I look bothered
A company set up with a quid not so many months ago is threatening to walk away with their dubious friend Disley.
Bye then if they wanted to help BWFC they would take the Supporters Trust team fit them with concrete boots for a swimming trip they can feed the fishes.
