All indications are that the board are going to stick with LVG, certainly for the remainder of this season anyway, and it raises a fair few questions for me :-
I personally cant see anything improving any time soon under LVG, so are the board accepting that it is unlikely that we will qualify for next season's Champions' League?
We are still only in January, is the board really willing to forfeit this season (for reasons unknown), whilst a change in fortune, and manager, could see us obtain top 4 and perhaps even an FA Cup win?
How, after spending £250m, do we still require MAJOR rebuilding works, and indeed some of the areas requiring attention, are areas LVG is supposed to have addressed?
I'm not an advocate for Giggs as a long-term replacement, but would we be any worse off with having him in charge for the remainder of the season, if we could get an experienced head to assist him? (I don't mean rolling out all the Class of 92 as assistants either - total bull-sheeite!)
The mood around the whole United set-up (even the academy seems subject to a lot of negativity at the moment), and something needs to change quickly to change this, and get some more positivity around the club, and surely it has to start at the top?
This is a key moment in United's history i feel where good decisions have to be made which will shape the way the club moves forward.
rest of the season

I just don't get it. I can only think it's through sheer pride that he's being kept on by those who appointed him. But pride normally comes before a fall. We've already fallen pretty far
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The elephant in the room is Fergie's role in selecting the chosen one and then the specially chosen one who replaced him. What's he going to do now, his credibility as easily the best manager the world has ever seen is going to be tarnished on account he has not got a clue how to help recruit a manager.

Fergie has made it pretty clear that he didn't have the final say on who we appointed when he retired and also 1. He didn't choose Moyes. 2. the 5 people he wanted over Moyes were not available. Jurgen Klopp himself admitted a couple of weeks ago that he was one of said 5 but the time wasn't right to move to United.
So I call bullcrap

You lot have literally just made a huge assumption (that LVG will remain in charge until the summer regardless of what happens) and then proceeded to moan about that assumption.
I would join in but I disagree with your assumption!

I think it would take an awful lot for him to go before the summer, given what we've already endured. Any departure before the summer will require a jump, over a push imo. And LVG's arrogance makes that unlikely imo

I disagree. I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone by next month or even next week.
Certainly another performance/result/fan response like we saw yesterday would cause the board to take notice if they aren't already on top of things.
If the manager gets booed by the whole stadium every week the club could not ignore that - and nor could the sponsors.
If things don't improve then that's what they face. It would be too embarrassing for the club not to take action.

PS next week is next month but you get what I mean! He is on borrowed time already.

You may be right redmisty. Fan power can and often does make a big difference. When the entire stadium is in unison in their disgust at what they're seeing (rightly so in my opinion) it could lead to his position becoming untenable

That's what I'm thinking. I also think that LVG himself could quit if that happens. IMO his ego is more likely to see him away walk from the club than stay where he isn't wanted. He noted the feelings of the fans - and that it wasn't a small minority booing - and I think another response like that could see him quit.
I don't think LVG cares about media opinion but when it's clear the fans want him gone I think he will care about that.

Redmisty
I was listening to a podcast a couple of months ago and one of the guests (possibly Amy Lawrence) said that LVG always does things on his own terms and that him leaving United (should it be before the end of his contract) would likely be him walking away and highly unlikely to be the result of a sacking

Yeah sounds about right.
I also think he may have gone already, voluntarily or not, if we had a fully fit squad during this bad period. He and/or the board might feel that things will improve when we get players back. I have a feeling he may have been given a bit more benefit of the doubt for that reason. But even that must be wearing thin now.
