Five more wins for Europe

Six for Champions League.

We have 47 points.

The average points total for finishing sixth in the history of the Premier League is 61 points. Ergo to finish 5th you need an average of 62 points - 15 more points or 5 more wins will secure us a Europa League spot.

The average points total for finishing fifth in the history of the Premier League is 64 points. Ergo to finish 4th you need an average of 65 points - 18 more points or 6 more wins will secure us a Champions League spot.

Easy really, what are we worried about? Get your passports up to date, we're going on tour.

Out of interest, the highest points total needed to finish 5th was a whopping 73 in 1995 and the lowest was 56 in 1999.

The highest points total needed to finish 4th was 74 in 1995 and the lowest was 57 in 2004.

Norwich, West Brom, Newcastle, Swansea and Southampton should all be wins. None are good away from home. Not taking anything for granted but if we approach them like we have been then I see no reason.

Watford, Palace, Sunderland, West Ham, Everton, United and Chelsea are all winnable and you can pretty much guarantee we'll win one or more of them.

We will get at least 71 points, bare minimum I reckon.

Just to point out at this stage 6th gets us no more than finishing 17th

And 1995 was a 42 game season - the 20 team PL era began 95/96

I think 70 points will get us 3rd - so yes 6 wins and 5 draws and we're on our way

To think this time last year we needed more than that just to survive

Exactly. We won those games when the pressure was really on too and I'm sorry but I don't buy chasing a PL title being more pressurised than staying in the division. They had to go out and win six games on the bounce, no room for error and they did it. Shows the mental character they have, not bottlers 😉

This should be a doddle in comparison because we've already exceeded expectations and nobody expects us to win it. The pressure is on Arsenal and City, not us.

Cracking stat, cracking point. It's a different kind of pressure in a way, but it's pressure nonetheless. I wonder now whether the finale of last season might persuade these players that they can do it.

I still think 1 game at a time is the best mantra at the moment. If we can beat Liverpool we would at worst be 3 points of the top with a favourable run of fixtures ahead.

Luckily the players and Ranieri look it like that but as fans, this is part of dreaming and having outside hope of doing something amazing. It's in our hands now 😂

I keep working in blocks of games.

We had that first run of games up to the Arsenal defeat where we felt like it was a continuation from the end of last season. Once we lost it was looking at how we would get on up to the Man U game.

Then we had that supposedly tough December set of fixtures were you're questioning can hang on in there.

The next set was this January run till now and my next set is Liverpool, Man City and Aresnal.

Got to see where we are after the next three then it's an extending run of games right up to Man U away when the last three games could mean nothing or everything!!!!!

What a season, couldn't even have dreamt it.
