First off, I'm taking it as fact that West Ham are a club that's improving.
Question is how far can we go realistically in the short term, say 2-5 seasons?
I'm not expecting any kind of European football this time around, although the way this season has gone so far it's not impossible. Unless we get lucky and win the F.A cup that is, of course for any team to win a knockout cup a good slice of luck is needed.
The real question is what should be our target next season and more importantly after a settling in season at the new stadium the 2 or 3 after that?
Next season will be an odd one, for West Ham in particular following the move, but for I think the entire league, with Man U I think having no C.L and Chelsea no European football at all in all likelihood. I would be content with 6, 7 or 8th next season as I would be this.
The year after, the 2017-18 is the one for me, where hopefully we will start to see real improvement. The extra income and higher profile the stadium move will bring should mean better players and I would expect us to seriously challenge for a European place.
After that..... any guess is as good as another.
How far can West Ham go?

I watched your game against City on Saturday with my bro in law (big hammers fan) and thought you were very good. I'd say that behind the banter we are both pretty happy with our lot at the moment. Its between Alli and Payet as to who was the steel of the season so far.

I know it's remarkable, we both seem to have decent scouts for once.

I'm always optimistic, but I try to keep a degree of realism with it.
I think the present top 5 will be the top 5 come the end of the season, but I'd only stick my neck out on Arsenal and Man City as nailed on top 4. It is possible that West Ham could finish above anyone of the other 3, but not likely.
Still 6th or 7th would show we were an improving team and that in addition to a move that should increase our revenue and perhaps more importantly our profile should hopefully help us be able to recruit better players and keep that improvement going.

Mafia coming on and saying we will be Champions of Europe in 2 seasons time, followed by Chronic saying West Ham will be relegated next season, quickly degenerating to them insulting each others sexual preferences and mothers is the reason I've filtered both of them.

I would think that within 2 or 3 years you will be back in the championship where you belong, you are due another relegation.
