Joel Campbell has been a breath of fresh air this season and as someone who backed him to come good if given the chance I'm happy to see him succeed for us but he's not this season's Coquelin.
Only similarities are that they've progressed very quickly in such short time and have made an impact as regulars but JC isn't someone who will be a starter in our best XI.
JC has shown he's capable of being at Arsenal as he's done superbly against mid-table sides but a squad player is all he should be.
He's been awful in the big games bar the 1st 30 mins at Anfield. City he was poor and missed a sitter, Bayern away he was woeful and slow and vs Chelsea he was non-existent.
Ox has the better potential as a player and game changer. JC suits our style well but doesn't cause havoc for long enough.
People are questioning Ox's good games for us... err... Milan, Bayern, United, Liverpool, Chelsea (CS) I could go on. Ox is a threat in the big games and the situation on Sunday would've suited him more as we needed individual quality and better ball-carriers over long distances to get us out of trouble.
If we're not dominating then JC is quiet (although puts a decent shift in). It's time to go back with The Ox from this weekend onwards as he'll be a massive threat against Barca.
By far the greater potential, bigger game player, overall better talent.
Ox is a bigger game player than Campbell

Alexis--Giroud---Ox is a well balanced front 3. We can get more width in our game. Giroud may end up missing Theo if he loses his place to Alexis so we'll need someone that can quickly support.
JC is more creative than direct. Him-Alexis-Giroud front 3 will be too laboured imo

Oh shut it. Campbell has outplayed Ox in every game both of them have been involved in this season. Heck at the moment it'd be a shame if he lost his starting position to Theo.
Going on and on about 'potential' is just leveraging hope where common sense would serve you better.
Ox has been in our first team for 4 years. Joel 6 months. If potential is on anyone's side its Joel, who is still coming to terms with his self-confidence.
Ox can't pick a pass to save his life and really does come across as a limited player. Poor decisions and poor passing means he'll excite and then turn right around and play it back to a deeper player, or just turnover possession.
No contest mate. Joel is the better player. Ox needs to up his game, or he'll be gone soon.

"Ox has the better potential as a player"
"No contest mate. Joel is the better player."
Both of the above statements is correct. "Potential," is just that, until it is realised. Campbell's ability to play in a gelled, fluid manner with the entire team and fit seamlessly into the way we play. Far outweighs Anything Ox in his current phase of development can offer. He's a far more complete, mature and intelligent as a player. Once Ox reaches Campbell's level of development (assuming he does), well he should/will be downright sensational and hands down a better player than Campbell at the same stage. Until then Campbell will start ahead of him.
The force is strong in the Ox but he has yet to master it's use, hence he shall remain at the status of Padawan. Campbell, though not as strong, has a mastery of the force which has attained him the status of Jedi.

Ox has been facking useless for a long, long time.

JC may be the more limited player but he's still good and he's consistent, plus he works hard.
Ox has basically been rubbish- this season- when it's mattered most. Personally I don't think he works hard enough to get back behind the ball when it's often him that's lost it. Hopefully he's just struggling in this injury-plagued team, and having Coquelin (+Cazorla) back may allow him a little more freedom (i.e. they'll provide cover when he loses the ball rather than Flamini who'll probably be in front of him!)

Joel has not got close to his best yet, he is still getting used to English football. Combined with the fact we have played distinctively average since Coquelin and Cazorla picked up their injuries, meaning Campbell has had to do a lot of defending as well.
The truth is his performances are only a glimpse at his ability, and his performances are out shining Chamberlains.
Although the likelihood is neither will be in our starting XI when Coquelin and Alexis are fit to start.
