OUT:
Keane £3.5m
O'Hara £5m
Palacios £8m
Crouch £12m
Hutton £4m
Woodgate released
Jenas loan
Bentley loan
Total Revenue: £32.5m
IN:
Parker £5m
Adebayor loan
Falque loan
Coulibaly undisc
Total spent £5m
NET SPEND: -£27.5m
On top of that, there has been a massive saving in wages. Those leaving will have commanded somewhere between £300k and £350k a week....so £15m-17.5m pounds a year.
Those coming in probably amount to upto £200k per week (£10m)
SO overall £27.5m in profit on the transfer kitty and between £6m and £8m saved on wages.
Overall the squad looks balanced.
If it weren't for the constant injuries at CB I would feel more confident about our defence. But maybe with Parker and/or Sandro holding we will be more solid in that area.
In attack we will be very reliant on Adebayor. Defoe is sharp and is a good finisher but little else. Pav is hot and cold and when you need to rely on him most he fails to perform. I think (hope!) that maybe a deal for Leandro in the Jan window might be tied up well in advance.
So In Summary

Levy will now be able to employ a whole army of covert bin searchers.
He will be able to get to the bottom of the Olympic Stadium, 9/11, Princess Di, JFK, Shergar, Lord Lucan and Where's Wally mysteries.

I said earlier that we must have a deal in place for the NDP. There's a reason why we're not spending. Given the C League run, player sales and lack of signings we must be looking at a pot of way over £100 million. It's all for the stadium. I'm certain of it.

So I take it we've all given up hope of waking up and finding out we've splashed 35 million on a NEW STRIKER?

We made about 40 million from the CL last season, plus we only spent about 10mil on players too, so some of last year's budget would definitely have been carried over to this year. We bid 35 million for Augero and Rossi in Jan, meaning we had at least a 40 million budget last year, plus the new budget this year plus the player sales mean we have a minimum of 100 million in the bank right now, purely for transfers. Could easily be even more than that however.

The search for NEW STRIKER should now be reclassified as PERMANENT NEW STRIKER!

We haven't spent big for a while. Even the Jan transfer window in the season we got top 4 consisted of bringing Gudjohnsen in on a loan. It makes sense it's being saved for a stadium or something.

I do get the feeling that Levy is being very sensible with money right now for a valid reason. Cash for stadium is a worthy cause - and the long term should be priority.
I'm just a little worried we will see a dip in our recent respectable league finishes this time around.

Scott Dann £5m, Onouha on a loan, Drenthe on a loan -all players we should have been in for. How Samba is still a Blackburn player i will never know.
